i sold something on ebay, and the buyer's address shows as
Doral, FL zip XXXXX long weird number
Miami, FL zipXXXXX

so 2 cities, same state, same zip, and one long weird number;)

USPS is prompting me to correct the address when I go to print the label. I have contacted the buyer twice asking for an address confirmation.
The first time all she did was repeat the same address without any explaination.

I am wondering if this could be a military base address or what am I missing here? anyone familiar?

Uh Oh, email buyer and DOCUMENT thru , MYebay emails only.
I would definitely add "delivery confirmation" on this pkg, I did it on ALL my items actually. Good Luck, something is NOT right!

It looks like Doral, FL is a suburb of Miami and according to the post office all of the zip codes listed for Doral are also valid for Miami. If you don't hear back from her I'd probably just address it to Miami with that zip code and ignore the long weird number.

Yes there really is such a place.. and it once was considered Miami.. but has since became its own "city"... here is some info on it. As far as the ebay question, if you are doubtful, then don't do it... just my opinion....

Doral is a city located in north-central Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is west of Miami International Airport, and considered a suburb of Miami. The City of Doral takes its name from the famous golf and spa resort located within its municipal boundaries. The Doral Golf Resort & Spa was originally built by Doris and Alfred Kaskel, who coined "Doral" by combining their names. The City of Doral was incorporated along with Miami Gardens in 2003.

Yes there is I visited the doral golf course in dec. So yes it is a real city. jo

I used to work right down the road from the country club. Back then it was just considered part of Miami, but it is a real city.

I just don't know what to do with the address. I already have her payment, so I really wanted to ship several days ago, but communication is not her priority, i guess. I always use delivery confirmation, but ebay does NOT protect the seller. Its all about the buyer now

I would send it to Miami, FL. The postal workers there should know by the address and zip that it is in the Doral area.

What exactly is wrong with the address, here's the address for the city of Doral,
8300 NW 53rd Street, Suite 100, Doral, FL 33166 ,what makes this buyer's address weird and different from this one.

did she give you the 4 digit code after the 5 digit zip??

I lived in Miami, and yes Doral is there. I lived in the City of North Miami, but things could be addressed Miami or North Miami, FL 33168 with no problems for delivery.

Except for some crazy places like Coral Gables (which uses street names), Miami is set up in a numerical grid. So there's only one NE, NW, SW, SE within Dade County. So the corner of 131st and NW 10th ave, there's only one, and it's in North Miami.

I know here in Orlando, Orange Ave goes from Kissimmee and all the way north through dowtown and further. But there's more than one 425 N orange ave... drove myself nuts trying to find my dentist office and I found out I was like 10 miles off...

Any case, totally off topic. I think you'll be just fine mailing it with Miami in the address.

Have you tried googling her phone number or her name to come up with an address?

Yes it's a valid city I worked in Doral for 7 years. Our mail was addressed to Miami, FL or Doral FL as long as the zipcode is fine & it probably sounds as she gave you the 5 digit zip xxxxx-xxxx then the 4 numbers after it. The same thing with our current office, located in Palmetto Bay, FL but the mail says Miami, FL. :thumbsup2

whats wrong is that there is a 4th line to the address....

8300 NW 53rd St (an extra strange number DO47884119697)
Suite 100
Doral, FL 33166
Miami, FL 33166

I am not questioning if there is a Doral, FL. I just want to know why another city in the address. Is is a base?
No, she didn't give the extra 9 digit zip code... just the typical 5

You should ship to the exact shipping address she gave you. If USPS is prompting you to delete the "extra strange number" just delete when you print your label and then write it on your label yourself.

Since this is an eBay transaction - Is the address CONFIRMED through PayPal? If so - you need to send the package exactly as the address appears or you won't be protected through sellers protection.

If the address is not confirmed - you have already have email communication with the buyer about said address to document - so go ahead and send it as buyer states.

Also, to those that sell on eBay - ALL packages should always have Delivery Confirmation, if they don't PayPal will automatically side with the buyer in a dispute.

Sounds like it might be a private mailbox service like is offered at a UPS Store or similar location or else a work address. The long number may be the buyer's account identifier or employee id.

Just ship it as the buyer requested and be done with it. You already have your payment.

If it is the 8300 NW 53rd St Suite 100 address mentioned, that is the address for the City of Doral.

I used to live near there. It is real as others have said. I live in SW Ranches now. We have been a city for years and people get all bent out of shape when I say SW Ranches and their computer brings it up as Ft Lauderdale. If you put the zip the PO knows how it is. It will get to the right person. Just put Doral and the zip. That was my zip also when I lived down there.

I used to live 3 miles from Doral, but I would address any mail to just Miami,FL.The post office will be able to deliver any mail according to the zip code.

I don't know if you do much ebay selling, but a year or so ago everything became completely buyer oriented. You can have DC. You can have insurance. The above do not matter anymore. I always get DC because it comes when you print priority labels online. I would not pay extra for it though because it would not matter if there was a problem. Ebay ALWAYS sides with the buyer unless you can prove fraud
