Does Disney keep track of the kids ages? Heres why I want to know, we went to Disney last year and my daughter was nine, it turns out where going again this year but I would hate to get her adult dining, she just doesn't eat! Would it be possible to say she's nine again? We're booking thru AAA but I wonder if it would come up that we said she was nine last year.

I don't know. But be ready for the Moral Police to stop by and tell you how horrible you are for even considering this! :)

If you have made reservations with Disney in the past did they ask your ages, they usually do. I know when I make reservations they most of the time they mention my kids ages and they seem to know them.

When I booked for this years trip I was asked my kids ages even though we went last year. The only difference is this year we belong to DVC and last year we booked through CRO.

its not up to Disney to judge the age of your child, however the majority of the CMs will advise you that 10 upwards is classed as adult. They may or may not see from previous records, however if you say your daughter is 9 they probably would not argue. My daughter turned 10 after we booked our trip so I rang to advise them she turned 10. Even though I pay more for tickets, it is better this way for us as she gets more choice with adult meals on the dining plan. If I were'nt on the dining plan I probably would not have told them she was now 10. I honestly think the adult age should be 12 not 10. If they did see the previous records saying she was 9 last trip tell them someone must have made a mistake on the records, if you really want to do this. I doubt anyone is going to put your child on the spot and ask them their date of birth. The question you will have to ask yourself is are you prepared to tell your child to say she is 9 if she is asked by a CM ? good luck with your decision. :)

I would tell them her correct age. For 2 reasons:
1- I don't like to lie, and don't want to teach my child that its ok too for any reason.
2-Tthe choices off of the childs menu are things that you can get at any restaurant...mac & cheese, hamburger, pb&j, chicken.... On our most recent trip with the DDP, DS was wanting so badly to try something that was off of the adult menu, but he likes foods that most 5yr olds don't eat. He was so happy when we went to spoodles and he could order a steak!!

I'm not sure if they all keep track of children's ages but last year when I made a reservation the CM did repeat to me the ages of my children (information given from a previous reservation). :)

I think they do keep track of the ages of everyone. I have been asked how people who have gone with us once are doing even though they aren't going on current trips. They also seem to know quite a bit about us.

Disney doesn't keep track of thier ages. They only know what the computer screen tells them. When you book they ASK the kids ages. When you make dining ressies they ASK the kids ages. But they don't change with their birthday. When I made our ressies months ago, my older boys were 4 and 5. When I called recently to change something they had turned 5 and 6. Disney didn't know, the CM said 4 and 5. So, no they aren't sitting around calulating your childrens ages.

The question the OP asked has been answered. No one asked everyone's opinions on right and wrong. We all KNOW the rules, OP KNOWS the rules. But it's no one business. So, answer the question and leave it at that.

I have had to have them correct my kids ages several times because they were wrong in the computer. I don't know if it is just us or what but they just don't seem to get it right. I had to call last week because I realized that they had my dd who is 11 listed as 9 and my ds who is 14 listed as a 12 yr old. Our trip is in a couple days and I didn't want to have any problems with free dining.

To the OP, I posted a ? the other day with just your concerns. Even though my dd is 11, she eats like a bird. If I pay for her as an adult then I feel that anyone in our party should be able to use her adult credits and I will pay oop for her mac & cheese kids meal. Of course I would only be able to do this for non buffet meals. I will not be doing this for our upcoming trip as we have free dining and do not feel as though disney is taking advantage of me. For our next trip however, we will be paying full price for her so I am pretty sure we will use some of her credits for a signature meal or towards an additional meal.

Yes they do in there reservaton system. They have asked me if kids we brought with use 5 years ago will be joining us again. They used their full names and their ages. So if you have stayed on site before they know she has aged and is 10 now. Might just be best not to get the dining plan for your family.

I just booked a night at the Contemporary for December and was asked not just for my sons age but his actual birthdate so if you're going to lie, just be prepared to put come up with a different birthdate for your daughter. I also agree that for dining purposes the "adult age" should start at 12 but unfortunately it isn't. Good luck in your decision.

Yes they do keep track of their ages and birthdate. My sister booked a package with the dining plan and she told them my nephew was 9. The cm said actually he'll be 10 by then and said his birthdate.

For a November trip we listed a 18 as a 17 year old so her parents would not have to pay for an extra adult.s Yell if you want.

We went last year and they still had all the info this year when I called again. My DD was 2 during the last trip and this year we have to obviously pay for her. I don't even think they asked the ages...just rattled off names in our party and whether we were classified as "children" or "adults".

This is one of the reasons why I'm NOT doing the dining plan. They do know my children's ages, and my oldest just turned 10, and when I made my room reservation, the CM knew how old my kids were. My 10 year old is not interested in eating any adult food, and would want hamburgers and pizza. I am NOT paying $38 for hamburgers and pizza.

I think they have the info from your most recent visit. On my last visit, only 3 people from our family were there. They didn't even have the names/ages of the family members from the visit before (when the whole family went). They also didn't change the kids' bdays from our last visit. They still have them down as a year younger.
