DS loves it there, loves to play the video games and ride the kiddie rides. Heck, he even likes the big rat :lmao: He's a bit immature for his age though. Do you think the other children his age will think this type of party is too babyish and not attend?

My DS is 9 and he would love it. I on the other hand value my sanity and choose not to go there if at all possible ;)

DS is pretty mature compared to the kids in his class. I just asked him what he thinks and he asked if he's invited lol.

I don't know how old is too old. My son is 9 and hasn't had any interest to go there in a few years. I do remember when he was about 3 and we went that there was a group of older boys, maybe 7-9 range, and they were a rowdy bunch. They took over the maze thing and all the younger kids basically had to stay off of it.

Well we wouldn't have to worry about a rowdy bunch in the maze because there isn't much of one at this particular CEC. It's a lot of rides and games really.

My 11 year old still loves going.

Frankly, so do I!

DS9 still loves it there. He's not mature for his age at all, though

My son turned 8 last month and had his party there. He's in second grade (just missed the cutoff date). All the boys from his class and cub scout den had a great time. Including our friend's son who is 9 1/2.

I'd say it depends on your Chuck-E-Cheese. The one by me was just remodeled and has some really nice video games all for one token. Some of the dads were stealing tokens from their kids to play.

Book your party on a weeknight if you can. You get $3 more in tokens for each kid and unlimited table time. It's much quieter an the kids can actually play with each other. We were about the only people there. A six o clock party is more than early enough for most people even on a school night and they don't have to feed their kids dinner as a bonus.

My daughter hasnt gone there or had any of her friends have parties there since she was about 5 or 6- its all Dave and Busters now that they are 7 & 8!

My kids stop liking chuckie cheese at age 7 and now they want to go to dave and busters for their birthday parties.

I thought of that, but with there being a bar there I wasn't sure if many parents would feel comfortable dropping their kids off there. I personally wouldn't mind it, but I don't know about other people. D&B has way better food too!

It all depends...My son wanted his 9th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. I let him...He was young (immature) for his age, but I thought, let him enjoy it if that's what he wants. The kids liked it. Some will think it's silly, some will like it. I say do what your son wants, and enjoy him being young, because it will change before you are ready, and then you'll be sad like me.

I think Chuck E's is ok for one more go round at age 9. Next year, it'll be double digits and time for Hooters;)

Well Hooters IS a family place, ha! Could you imagine getting a classmates invitation to Hooters :lmao:

I wouldn't think so. I am an adult and would love a party at Chuck E Cheese.

I think it really depends on the personalities and maturity levels of your son and his friends. Some nine-year-olds will love it, and some will hate it. You might try looking into somewhere a little less kiddie-like, somewhere like Dave & Buster's maybe.

I only had a few birthday parties as a child and they were all held at a restaurant because my mom didn't want people at the house and didn't want to pay for something like Discovery Zone (we didn't have a Chuck E. Cheese then).

I think so. My kids stopped going to Chuck E Cheese when my oldest was about 8 or so.

Our 9 yr old dd is a little immature, and she would love it. Last year we had a swim party at the Y. A few months later we were talking about it, and she said she wanted to go back to CEC. The same thought crossed my mind too, Summerluvv, glad she's not alone. If she still wants it when her birthday comes around, we'll do it.

I would rather stick hot needles in my eyes while chewing glass than go to Chuck E Cheese:scared:
