I am wondering if you like to try new foods or entrees when you dine at WDW ?Or do you tend to choose the same entree if you have been to the restaurant before. Do you look forward to trying new foods you have never eaten before or do you choose a familiar food. I am thinking of trying the buffalo steak at Artist Point and Mahi Mahi at Coral Reef this trip for the 1st time. I just curious how adventureous every one else is when it comes to their WDW dining. Are you trying new foods on your next trip?
Thanks!!!:)

I do a little of both. We try to get one or two new restaurants on every trip, so we're forced to try new food. But we also do a few favorites each time, so we tend to get some of the same things at those. I love trying new things at WDW, because overall their food is so very good, it's easier to try something and it end up being good. I mean, DH is the pickiest eater in the world, and when we met he ate chicken and burgers, and that was the extent of it. The first restaurant we tried out at WDW was Marrakesh in Morocco! And he liked it!

Yes, we often try new foods - especially at WDW. That's probably what lead us to Artist Point in the first place and its now about our most favorite place at WDW.

We're all about new foods and new restaurants. We only have 3 restaurants out of 23 for our January trip that are places we've been before - ESPN, Sci-Fi and Kona, and two of those three are new to DH because he wasn't with us on the last trip. With the recent menu changes, I'll definately be trying something new at two of them - Sci-Fi did away with the BBQ chicken that I usually have, and both new fish dishes at Kona look so good that I have no idea how I'll choose between them.

When My family was at Citricos Chef's Domain for dinner, I tried many different things. How many teenagers can say that they have had truffle (a teeny tiny piece) before?

Sci-Fi did away with the BBQ chicken that I usually have

Aww, that was my favorite! I guess when 2009 comes I will have to pick something else (yes, I said 2009.)

For me. eating out is all about trying different foods and dishes so I say go for it! Of course, every now and again there is that special dish from a favorite restauarant but then someone else at the table needs to get something different for us to try!:rotfl:

I say GO FOR IT try something new. After all it is vacation. If you don't like it you can always snack on something later. Especially if you have the DDP. Just make sure you order an appetizer you like so that if the main entree is not all that great you know you won't starve.;)

We absolutely try new things. The only place where I will not eat something different is at JIKO where I have to have the filet (which I didn't discover until our 4th trip there). I eat so much food while at WDW that by the next trip, I can't remember what I had last time anyway.

Regardless of where we eat, if there's an item on the menu my DS & I haven't ever tried, that's what we order it. My DH isn't quite as adventurous. He's all up for trying new restaurants, but usually orders items he's at least heard of. ;) For my DS & I that's not a requirement. If we haven't heard of it, that makes us want to try it even more. :teeth:

We do both...Everytime we go to WDW we try to try at least a couple of new rest. along with our must haves..DH and I are not picky people to begin with so we are always trying something at least once.

Very rarely do I eat the foods at WDW that I do at home. I don't even have hamburgers at WDW because I can get those any time at home (in over 25 trips to WDW, I've eaten maybe 5 hamburgers)! However, I find that on every trip to the World, I tend to eat many of the same things-gelato, Mahi-Mahi, butternut squash soup, baklava, etc.-just not things I get at home.

Thanks for all the great responses!!! Pakey I know what you mean about the tenderloin at Jiko, that was the best meal of my life. i am thinking about eating at Jiko twice on my next trip so I can try the short ribs.
Thanks again!!!:)

I like to try new things. For me it's part of the fun. And there are still so many restaurants that I'm trying for the first time, so it seems like I'm always trying something new. My parents also like to try new things. My sister and her husband, however, aren't quite as adventurous. Once my sister finds something she likes she usually sticks with it and my brother-in-law doesn't like a lot things, so his choices are often along the lines of chicken fingers and burgers. I'm really excited for our trip in December. Some friends are coming with us and they are very adventurous eaters. I anticipate a lot of plate passing during our meals.

Lately we have been trying all new foods and restaurants...I guess we are more daring in our old age. Never thought I would love escargot or fish but I am now addicted to both

We do both also. Sometimes we will go to a specific place because we have a hankering for a dish we've had in the past, other times we will try a new place because we want to try it.

I don't sepnd thousands of dollars on a Disney trip to eat what I do at home. I enjoy trying new things, which is why I normally don't care if the menus change. Unless the change is for boring stuff I can make or can eat out here.

We LOVE to try new foods at WDW! No offense to those DIS'ers who are more timid, but I really cannot understand spending all that money and time to go and eat burgers and mac & cheese! May as well stay home...

We're all about trying new foods - and not just at Disney. I must admit that before I met DH, I was more of a picky eater. He convinced me to start trying new things and I found lots more favorite foods! Now I'm always happy to find restaurants that have new and unique things for me to try. I think that's why we like Boma so much last year. Got to try some foods we had never had before!

On an OT note....LadyyRedd - I LOVE that second picture of your kitty cat! He looks like he's talking to the camera. So cool!

He will talk to anyone who will listen!!! I have seriously never heard another cat ever in my life talk as much as he does.
