Do LL Bean backpacks go on sale?

I'm thinking they don't, but we are planning to get DS7 a backpack from LL Bean for school this year. I don't mind to pay the $24 or whatever they are, but I will wait a couple weeks if they'll be going on sale.

Not ususally. Also be careful and fully inspect yours when it comes in. I have had 3 that the front pocket zipper has broken on. I finally asked them to replace my last one and got kind of a hassle.

Yes, they'll be clearanced after the season's over -- I got a summer clearance catalog just today. However, this is a big seller at this time of year, and they won't go on sale before school starts.

Yes, they do occasionally go on sale. Generally, I think, when they are changing designs. In March, in fact, they had one style in several colors/prints down to $11.95.

I regret not picking up a couple then. I have no idea when they might go on sale again.

Really? I've never had an issue with LL Bean replacing a defective anything, from a pair of $8 sunglasses on up.

No they dont usually go on sale especially at this time of the year. I live about 25 minutes from the Main Store .....I will tell you that I have had mine (well actually my sons) for over 20 years. It was bought when my son was in high school and he then brought it to college. It stayed at the house and we take it to Disney each visit so we can carry a back pack while in the parks ......it lasts and goes in the laundry and comes out clean......it is worth the price

Based on advice from the families board, I just bought DD an LL Bean Critter back pack for Kindergarten. It was $35, but I figure the guarantee and the good quality LL Bean is known for is worth it. The backpack arrived quickly and it looks great.

They had several on sale a month ago. I didn't get any as my kids thought they looked too "girly", but then I saw the blue/gray one in person and it looked like a boys', so now I wish I had gotten a couple of them.

They do sometimes put the prior years model on sale. Just check their sale site regularly.

My kids have been using LL Bean backpacks for over 10 years. They don't wear out. Few years back, I bought a winter jacket at their outlet, but when I got home, found that the zipper sticks a bit. So the jacket sat in the closet and didn't get a lot of wear. About 2 years later, I was at the outlet again talking with a sales lady and mentioned the sticky zipper. She told me to bring it back and gave me a brand new jacket. I didn't have a receipt, the jacket was about 2 years old and she just took my word. That's customer service

DH still has his LLBean backpack from middle school - I think it's like 22 years old! We also take it to DW everytime!!!

So... I bought DD the junior one last year for kindergarten. It survived! All of our friends are talking about how they need to replace their kids backpacks because "Zach wants the newer Cars backpack" or "Katie isn't into Belle this year" etc.... My DD's backpack will never go out of style. So even at full price- you're getting a GREAT deal. Classic styles, great quality, etc...

you can make a purchase anywhere, you just have to use the card. I used mine for six dollars and i just got my statement and I have a twenty dollar credit. I purchased lunch at Mcdonalds with it. I will be using that towards my sons backpack.

I've never seen their regular stock on sale, but there was a free shipping code last summer when I ordered my son's backpack. It must have been just about this time of year because we were on our way to the beach when I ordered it. Keep an eye out.

They also have lots at their outlet stores. Most have monograms, but you can catch some plain ones once in a while.

I would check their outlet stores. And check online for clearanced ones. I have not seen one this time of the year though. I bought my son's last April as soon as someone posted a deal on another site. It is camoflage and he loves it. Most of the time we find girly ones. We have tried cheaper ones but they never work out or last long. Good Luck finding one. But know they are good quality at full price it is a good deal because they last and are guaranteed.

They do go on sale. Last October, their original bookpacks were $11.99 shipped and the deluxe bookpacks were $19.99. Not all colors/prints were available though, and of course I ended up picking two that were too girly for my boys. No matter, I put them on ebay and was able to get my money back and a little extra for my time.

If you don't absolutely have to have the backpack before school starts I'd wait until mid to late fall to see if they put them on sale again.
