Holy moley!!! That looks (and sounds) amazing, I'm so glad you had a great stay! Here’s some pictures from New Year’s Eve in RPC! The prime rib and mashed potatoes were every bit as good as what you would get at a nice restaurant. I don’t post food pictures from the lounges often because they don’t tend to change much, and other people post them on here, but there were a couple of new ones to me…the brussel sprouts and the ginger glazed pork. There were a couple other new ones on different nights too (I loved the potato cake with prime rib). The brussel sprouts were delicious too, and I don’t typically like those! The mashed potatoes were not new but some of the best I’ve had! They’ve had the prime rib on NYE the past few years, but I think it was better this year! I’m not sure what chef was in charge NYE, but there is a new chef named George in RPC that has been there around a month he said, and he has really improved some of the options (some new offerings and some old ones he just made better)! As a fun side note, Ariana Grande’s mom and brother (Frankie Grande who apparently is in the new Henry Danger movie that is coming out) were there NYE, and they seemed like nice people! They actually joined the table of people behind us who were playing black jack! Evidently Jodi Benson (the little mermaid voice actress) was staying there too because I was talking to her husband for a few minutes one morning, and he had to explain to me who she was when he introduced himself to me. I was a bit embarrassed since I’m a Disney fan, but I’m really bad with names! She was there for the candlelight processional and then apparently went to the parks with her family, which explains why there were two VIP tour guides in the lounge eating appetizers in RPC a couple of nights!
They give you refillable bottles. There are no longer bottles in the fridge.Does WL still have water bottles on request?
They no longer have the bottles in the fridge. They give you refillable bottles on check in.This was April.View attachment 926624
Oof, thanks for the update! They give you refillable bottles. There are no longer bottles in the fridge.
Yes, the carving station is strictly a New Year’s Eve thing, and even that isn’t guaranteed every year! They have done a little less every year the past few years, so we were very pleased they kept the prime rib! They also had Mickey waffles in the lounge for breakfast on New Year’s Day. Nothing like when they used to have the chef in there making the waffles with all the toppings or anything, but at least they had the waffles! That is so disappointing that Tower club did nothing special for Christmas! I don’t really expect much out of the norm (these days anyway) when room rates are lower and a discount is available, but for holiday rack rates when there are no discounts and crowds are so high it severely affects your park days, I feel like they should do something to make it special! For what we spent on two rooms for my family (no suites available) and a mixture of multipass and premier passes to make the parks bearable, we definitely would’ve had a lot of other vacation options! If they take away too many special things, we would likely explore those options.@Dispro1 thanks for the RPC update. Was NY Eve the only day with a chef carved meat? We were at RPC in September & CR Tower club for Christmas. Neither had a chef carving. Tower Club didn’t seem to have anything special for Christmas.
I also want to thank my dear friend for sending me ewp and fun poolside activity videos some nights! I missed being there with her this year. Here’s some pictures from New Year’s Eve in RPC! Wow! First the one bedroom, and now you got the two bedroom booked too…impressive room stalking! I wish I could say we’ve stayed in a two bedroom recently, but we haven’t been able to get one for our dates! Honestly, there’s nothing reasonable about any of these room rates, so the deciding factor for me would be based on whether or not you think your sister will join you. Having a larger living room and a full extra bathroom and bedroom for your mom and sister would be ideal. It’s also a shorter trip (only two nights, right?) so it won’t be quite as painful as paying for a longer stay. All that being said, you could definitely get by with the one bedroom, especially if you don’t spend much time in the room anyway! All of those rooms are on the 5th floor so all nice and quiet!! The good news is that you don’t really have to be impulsive since you have some time to think about it before you would have to cancel what you don’t want. Good luck with your decision!Happy 2025, ya'll!! A 2-bedroom suite in the main building popped up this morning with the BB rate for the 2-day trip I'm taking with DMom in a few months. We're currently in a 1-bedroom suite, which is cheaper than individual rooms but I have been a bit worried about lack of privacy/space. The 2 BR suite is about the same as 2 rooms, and it has space in case one of my sisters wants to come down (she has been waffling, I booked her a separate room but know she will drag it out until the end). Has anyone stayed in one of these suites since reno? I found one YouTube video (room was gorg), but I wanted to get a firsthand opinion. Mom doesn't want to be in an outer building, and I really want to treat her, I'm overdue. But I am trying to be reasonable, $ wise. I just got a big retention raise and can afford it, but I don't want to be impulsive. Thoughts? Thank you .
Raw thought -- does anyone think it could be helpful (or even feasible) to try to compile a list of differences between the different club lounges (outside of the obvious that all lounges serve different style foods)? Just in the last few posts, I learned that one lounge gives refillable water bottles and doesn't have water in the fridge, and also seen discussion that some CLs do/don't have bathrooms within the club itself. I know there's also been past discussion about which lounges have self pour wines, and other things of that sort.
I've only ever stayed at one CL and I could see something like this as being handy for folks interested in exploring other lounges, but presumably this isn't something easy to compile or keep updated. Any thoughts? And apologies in advance if this is one of those ideas that gets thrown out there from time to time but there's good reason to not do it, or just no interest in it
So this was exactly our issue after our first CL stay! We found ourselves really wanting to be back at the lounge for dinner, to take advantage of the "free" food (family of six, it adds up!). We are headed back at the end of the month so this time we decided to do a split stay....the first few days we will be spending more time in the parks, then the last part relaxing in the WL lounge! We are wrapping up our stay at WL CL. It was fabulous. This trip was a trip I won through a raffle and not something I'd normally consider doing. We usually rent DVC points through an owner for BRV. We love WL, so for this trip, largely since we weren't paying, we did CL. That said, I'm not sure, even if we had the funds, how often we would do it. Maybe in the future for the last couple days to relax and enjoy the food. But we didn't do a lot of evenings in the parks because we wanted to maximize the lounge experience. And to be fair, the lounge experience at the Old Faithful Club is exceptional. We will probably splurge again another time, but like I said it probably wouldn't be for the whole trip. And I'd really hope it was when they have the mixed berry cobbler
The WL ones are similar...we are at the airport Hyatt now, but here's a picture. These WL refillable bottles… what do these look like?
BWI had a bin of plastic bottles (almost like smoothie/juice bottles) to use when we were they last month, but they weren’t that obvious that we were supposed to use them.
The water bottles are not in the fridge, but you can request them. They also give you refillable bottles, hoping you’ll use those instead. @gottaloveplutoThey give you refillable bottles. There are no longer bottles in the fridge.
They definitely look the same! Here’s the WL bottle…The WL ones are similar...we are at the airport Hyatt now, but here's a picture.View attachment 927191
