DisneyBand + and Magic Band +

Yes, you can use MB+ on Disney Cruise ships (and vice versa). Assuming they've fully rolled out for cruise, that is (I don't keep up with bands on cruise). But there is no difference beyond name/branding according to Disney's release notes.
 
It's just a naming thing for Europe, I believe. I think Magicband was already protected. They are the same exact bands. They are at being used on the Wish currently.
 
Look for Disney to eventually consolidate on the DisneyBand name over time.

Eventually, you'll be able to use the MagicBand+/DisneyBand+ on all of the ships, but not now. Right now only on the Wish, though the Fantasy will be enabled very soon...probably this month. The other ships will follow over time.

Yes, the Fantasy sailing on July 29 will be the first using MB+.
