It is hard to believe that a property like WDW that has more than 350 restaurants through their venues and resorts does not have nutritional information available for the counter service meals. I am presently on a low carb diet. And I'm one of those that logs everything into the Atkins app. My philosophy is that if you can't measure it, you can't manage it. Since 6/23/2016, I have went from 230 lbs to 210.4 lbs. While it is true, I could skip logging for that week and just try and stick to salads, I would much rather be able to see the nutritional information for my meals.

Does anyone know if this is available at the counter service restaurants?

No, not to my knowledge. This has been discussed in the past
Good Luck on your vacation

Hello Low Carber! Do the best you can, there are many resources to google 'bacon' for example. Will it be exact? Nope. But that happens just about any time you dine out, even with nutrition info.

Have a great time and congratulations on your progress!

Nope, Disney does not publish nutritional information. (The only location that did so was Be Our Guest and I believe it was done online, not at the restaurant.)

They don't post it but if you've been on Atkins for awhile you should pretty much know what you can or can't eat. Take the bread off sandwiches, all fruit has carbs so you probably know how much of that you can eat. No french fries. You are probably going to be better off at the TS restaurants or grab the vegetarian option at the QS.

there are so many things at QS now that are not bunned burgers :)

you can always order any combo without the fries. No bun and load up at the salad bar sides :)

A seven-year-old has offered to trade me her green beans for my chocolate cake at certain restaurants. All in the name of helping me diet, of course.

Congrats on your weight loss. I'm in the same boat. I have so far lost 35 pounds going from 220 to 185 and I log everything in My Fitness Pal. I'm also a Type I diabetic and it would be nice to have the nutritional information for me to log and to manage my insulin with. It is kind of weird they don't provide it but unfortunately in our society it's all about how much of a portion you can get for your dollar rather than what's inside that portion. Good luck.

I have used MyFitnessPal but recently switched to entering it in Atkins app. The Atkins app helps me do meal planning. I have been looking in MyFitnessPal and may use foods from other restaurants that are close. I confirmed with WDW that they do not have nutrition information available for their meals at any counter service restaurant. They are exempt from the FDA requirement because they consider every restaurant to be separate and not a chain.

Definitely not widespread, but wasn't there a thread recently showing that Columbia Harbor House was posting nutritional info? It may have been just calories, but perhaps they will start moving in that direction. People were shocked because the Lighthouse sandwich (hummus and broccoli slaw) was almost 1,000 calories. But I've seen that sandwich in person and it is huge! Also, I think that included the chips.

I try to follow a primal diet, and don't eat any grains at all. When we were at Disney in February, I did end up eating a lot of salads for counter service but there are other options. Also, a lot of the TS restaurants will be happy to sub side dishes, etc. WDW is one of those places where all you can do is your best!

Congrats on the weight loss, and have fun! :flower1:

1) With all the ADDED sodium and sugars, why would Disney EVER publish nutritional info?
. . . EXAMPLE": I know of meals that provide MORE than double the daily sodium recommendations for an adult male
2) So, they don't.

QED

Because more states are requiring it.

They are adding it. They should own it. If they are happy with it, state it. If it's shameful to them, take it out.

I think this debate has happened before when they announced that Backlot Express would be showing calories on their menus. Some liked it, some didn't, some wanted more nutrition information for allergy purposes. That got the discussion going as to what nutritional info. would they put on and what would they leave off. Boiled down to they can't put every ingredient and all nutritional info. in the limited space they have. At TS restaurants you can certainly ask the server and even request to talk to the chef but in the end, it is going to boil down to it's up to you to figure it out. I congratulate you on loosing the weight and wanting to continue your success while on vacation, I too have lost weight and try to eat healthy even on vacation. I've learned to just talk to the server, is it possible to get that chicken without sauce, are those veggies cooked in butter, salad dressing on the side please, does that salad come with croutons if so can you leave them off? I also get up every morning, even on vacation, and get some sort of workout in. If the hotel doesn't have a gym, I go for a long fast walk, I do yoga in some isolated area early in the morning, I keep a set of exercise bands in my luggage so I can get strength training done in my room.

Actually, it is an FDA requirement but only if there are six or more restaurants within the chain. WDW keeps their restaurants separate therefore, they do not fall under this requirement.

1) ABSOLUTELY.
2) Does anyone think that WDW will release nutritional info?
3) C'mon folks !!!!
4) Disney spends megabucks on lobbying and would not release info, if ever possible.

There is a local ice cream store that doesn't have to have nutrition labels because each flavor and size has to sell x amount to require a label. It's ridiculous. Most people wouldn't even consider looking at the nutrition facts (hello McDonalds) and I think it would be a great benefit to not just people losing weight.

McDonald's to their credit has every single menu item's nutritional label on the world wide web. Being a low carb diet, most of that menu is eliminated but there are options.

I know. I guess my point was that it hasn't stopped a ton of people from eating that stuff. If anything it has forced McDonalds to introduce healthier options which is a good thing.
