Disney Gift Cards

You can for Theme Park tickets, if buying them through the Disney website. I don’t think you can for Lightning Lanes, those are purchased through the app and it requires a credit card to be on file.

Yes you can.

Personally though I wouldn't go out and BUY gift cards just to do so.
To me that very small amount you save in the end isn't worth doing it.

You can pay both tickets and LL (MP and SP) with gift cards. The LL will default to your credit card, just hit add another payment and gift card will be an option.

We only spend gift cards pretty much at disney since its a defacto 5% off minimum (target red card always saves 5%, can find deals to get more then that)

We buy absolutely everything Disney with gift cards bought with a Target Red Card. Park tickets we buy on the Disney web site and there is definitely an option to use a gift card there. Once we get on property we charge everything to the MB. The night before we check out we go to the concierge and get a print-out of what we owe (can also access this on your MDE app). We then go to the Target website and buy Disney gift cards electronically there. You can then go to the Disney Gift card site and transfer funds to an existing gift card (max $1000/card) or just take the gift card numbers and access code #s to the concierge and they can enter the numbers manually. I do not recommend carrying around a stack of cards with any value on them as that is the same thing as carrying around wads of cash. If you lose them or they are stolen they are gone.

5% off works out to be a couple hundred dollars saved every trip, not to mention the money we save on our DVC dues. IMHO that is well worth the effort.

I buy electronic Disney gift cards whenever I see them above 10% off. I will max out any 10% buy as long as I haven’t covered my annual dues yet.

I also purchase small Disney e-gift cards directly from Disney at the Disney store. The ones from the Disney store can be added to your digital wallet in your phone. To keep them straight, I purchase multiple different e-gift cards from Disney with different pictures.

Then when I buy discounted gift cards at Target, etc, I transfer the funds to the gift card in my digital wallet on my phone. It makes it very easy to pay for everything, though it is a small amount of extra work. You’ll have to copy and paste the gift card info into the app to pay for lightning lanes, etc.

You can store up to $5k on Disneygiftcard.com (5 cards max 1k each). I keep a digital card on my phone and a physical in my wallet. The phone card is super secure, lose my wallet just transfer to another card.

I don’t usually go to WDW with more than $2k though.

Curious, where have you seen 10% gift cards in the past? I remember back in winter 2023 I think, Costco having a deal and I maxed that out which was great for our spring 2024 trip, but I haven't seen other deals like that before.

I get 6% cash back on my CC at grocery stores so that's pretty much where I get all my GCs, but it does have an annual max spending limit and last couple years I've hit that max by like August. I'll always go and buy large GCs for buying our park tickets and spending money right before a trip, and I always get the weird look and "man you must really like Disney" comments when buying a GC for like $600.

Target often has deals where you get rewards back recently my savings was 16-20%.
If you have an American Express keep an eye out for offers recently at Lowes I saved 20-26%.
Right now Sams Club you save 9.75% if you have a Discover card.

Thanks for the reply! I do have American Express, never noticed the offers but I'll look into it. I have heard deals through Sam's Club but never checked out since not a member, but we spend enough with dues and trips that maybe the membership fee is worth it for deals!! lol
