We have the November 1st cruise out of Port Canaveral on the Disney Dream booked and there looks to be a dry dock right before that starting on October 5th. Since we'll be on the first cruise after that I would like to know what changes will be made if any, and what sort of things we can expect. I did some digging and couldn't find any lists of changes or plans for this dry dock so I figured I would try my hand here! I know there may not be any officially released changes or plans yet but if you know anything currently about this dry dock please post it here for myself and others to see! Also, as things are released and announced please put that here as well!
Thanks DIS

Nothing official has been announced. It might be a simple mandatory dry dock without any major changes.

I was told they are converting about 30-40 rooms on deck 10 to concierge and expanding the concierge lounge.

There's been an announcement already that they are adding more Cat V rooms to the Magic later this year (as they did on the Wonder). There has been no announcement that they are doing this on the Dream. Concierge rooms are on decks 11 and 12 on the Dream and Fantasy, I don't see them taking out non concierge rooms on deck 10 to add more.

It is happening I was shown space in forward storage area that is becoming more lounge area, and yes concierge rooms are deck 11 and 12 but there is no more space up there so they will take family veranda state rooms on deck 10. I wish i was wrong as someone that always sails concierge I do not want to have more rooms competing for castaway cabanas, but at the end of the day these rooms sell for a premium so it is just more revenue for DCL

Wow, interesting, I AM surprised!

Not sure if the term "dry dock" is being used literally or as a generic term for a refit berth.

If it is truly a dry dock then then are doing some type of repair or upgrade on the hull or a hull survey..

In the Art of the Theme show tour, they usually say they go into dry-dock for minimally a hull inspection.

So with the converting of more rooms into club level, will this make it even harder for regular staterooms to get a Palo brunch?

I heard on our recent Fantasy cruise that they are going to add more Cat V rooms to concierge from deck 10 to the Fantasy as some point as well. Makes sense as the rooms are the same size and they can sell them for significantly more than standard family veranda rooms.

Could it also cut down on the last minute rates on the veranda rooms as they will be less of the normal ones?

DH and I are on that cruise too. Would love to know what dry dock plans they have too. Also praying this stays a 7 night Eastern. The last time we booked an Eastern on the Fantasy it was changed to a Western because of all the island damage from the hurricane.
