Anyone care to share what they use? My Haines Whit tshirts get ugly yellow marks under arms all the time

Uhhh, those ugly yellow stains are SWEAT stains, not deodorant stains! Deodorant can leave white chalky marks on clothes, not yellow stains.

Try using Dry Idea or other prescription-strength anti-perspirant at night, plus a regular deodorant/anti-perspirant during the day.

Secret stains all of our whites, we use Degree, Ban, or Dove with no problem.

Supposedly the Adidas Aluminum Free is supposed to help with this.

I love my white t-shirts, but sweat like a pig and can't figure out how to get it out of the clothes I have.

I dont think is sweat though I think its the chemical in the deodorant. My dry cleaner said to stay away from the clear gels to only buy the white powder ones. Any one agree or disagree?

Dove did NOT work for me. I ended up tossing out all my white shirts. :(

This is interesting. Not all Italians in my son's dance class uses deodorant. EVERY boy sweats, however, none of the Italian boys get those yellow stains. Only my son. My conclusion is that it is either American deodorant is causing it or there is something ONLY in American sweat that causes those stains. :confused3

I have been using the new Secret Clinical strength deodorant for the last 6 months or so, and I LOVE it! I never sweat under my arms anymore.

My DH had this problem. We were having to replace his white t-shirts every three months and that was VERY expensive! He switched from an anti-perspirant to a deodorant (Old Spice Red Zone) and hasn't had a problem since. It IS a common problem and 'most likely' is caused by the chemicals in the product interacting with your body's chemicals. I had 'googled' this when DH was having a problem and there are LOTS of discussions and theories about it!

Honest to god - I thought "I don't remember writing this post??" I'm having the exact same problem...but, it's not just my white t-shirts and it's not just t-shirts anymore. All of my t-shirts are getting discolored under the arms (and some almost brand new) and I just pulled an expensive sweater out of my closet and saw the same thing!! I bought the new "Shout" set in stain formula and hope that will help. I also bought the new prescription strength anti-persperant. I hope that helps.

If anyone has any tips on removing the stains/discoloration, I'd love to hear them.

I wish I knew! With DH's white t's, I bleached and even bought the "yellow out" laundry treatment. Nothing worked. I, too, would be interested in solutions for this problem!

I have noticed a 'discoloration' on the inside of my shirts as well, but since it can't be seen from the outside 'yet,' I am sticking with my same old, same old. (Too lazy to change until it gets too expensive not to!):rotfl:

I bought it right before our July Disney trip, and LOVE it too! :thumbsup2

I had to quit using gels/clear solids as that is what was causing the staining on my clothes a few years ago. I have since moved to Ban solids (in while) and haven't had a single issue.

A friend of mine who's a long distance runner switched to natural deodorants this spring and said that she no longer gets stains.

I have this problem pn my shirts and DH's undershirts. I recently read about using vinegar to remove the yellow stains. Will have to try it! I have added vinegar to the rinse cycle from time to time for stinky towels, or a load of wash "forgotten" for a day or two, it does remove odors. This said to boil the vinegar and pour it onto the yellow stains-obviously not a treatment for delicate clothes, but won't hurt T-shirts.

1/4 cup Cascade powdered dishwasher detergent
1/4 cup powdered laundry soap
1/2 cup bleach
water

Dissolve Cascade and laundry soap in a quart or so of hot water. Add the bleach and water to make a gallon. Presoak for a few hours to over night. Test on something you don't care about first.

My mom used to use this concoction to get sweat/deodorant stains out of white t-shirts.

I use one of those crystal rock deodorants. Been using it for years now and never had an issue with stains. Darned thing lasts forever, too.

DS gets crunchy white stains on his black t-shirts. Doesn't matter what type of anti-perspirant/deodorant he wears.
