So when our kids were little, I bought extra Christmas stockings (on sale!) for the time when they'd bring home very significant others. That time has come.
I have 2 stockings of 4 kinds for each couple (current & soon to be someday) I need to put first names on them so they can see what belongs to who :)

They're made of plush material, with plush / stuffed heads -(bears, puppies or kitties) - with the bottom of the stockings also plush - somewhat furry. I'm sure you've seen them. While they're still sold, they were hugely popular when I bought them LOL ;)

But since they're plush, I can't needlepoint their names, OR use puffy paint.
Somehow I need to attach their names. Any of you crafty, creative people have ideas? Help, please!!

TIA!

We used beads to put DD's name on her stocking. Medium sized (maybe 1" diameter) wooden beads stamped with letters. Strung them on red yarn to hang across the front of the stocking, attached at the side seams.

My sister actually took care of this but she used Elmer's glue to spell out the names and covered the glue with A LOT of glitter. It's been over 6 years and the glitter names are holding up.

Thanks for the ideas! Good place to start!!

My son is 22 and he has a plush Dalmation stocking from the Disney store. I put his name on it with glitter glue for his first Christmas. It still looks good.

I plan to hang a fabric tag with name on it, over the stockings. That way you can still embroider, without worrying about the plushness.

Can you elaborate on that a bit more? What kind of tag, and how will you hang it? (Not at all crafty, can you tell? LOL ;))

Well, I was thinking of sewing together any matching fabric, in the shape of a gift tag, and sewing in a loop of ribbon. I have an embroidery machine that I can add their names with. Then just hanging the gift tag on the stocking holder, over the stocking. Hope I get to this yet this year, but who knows!
