I have a conference at the Anaheim Convention Center coming up this year. The hotel planned on staying at is $600 for 2 nights. Unfortunately, I will not have time to go to Disneyland during this trip, but I am considering visiting Disneyland sometime before end of 2025 as a graduation present for my significant other.

$600 - Hotel Alone
$740 - 2x 2-day Tickets w/ genie+ ($370 each)

$1,130 - Costco package for this hotel + 2x 2-day tickets w/ genie+

Some quick math....
Hotel + Tickets $1,130
- Cost of hotel I was gonna stay at anyways ($600)
- Good Neighbor Disney Gift Card (-$160)
-----------------------------------------
Cost of tickets via package = $370 ($185 each)

Am I allowed to pocket the tickets for a later date instead of using them in conjunction with my Hotel stay? I read the policy below, but I don't know if it applies to packages.
For package bookings made on or after October 24, 2023, tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 12, 2026-whichever occurs first.

What if I do not end up visiting DLR before Jan 12, 2026. Do I get a cash equivalent of $740 toward future tickets?

your tickets won't be in use until you scan in for the first time, so you should be able to forgo going to the park but you would need to use the tickets by their expiration date and wouldn't get any 'cash equivalent'.

Wow, that’s a great deal, is the Costco package 2 day tickets for 2 people? Every time I’ve bought the Costco package, the only “savings” I receive is the value of the extra Costco gift card. Plus you get lanyards with pin (for trading) and can pick that up at the World of Disney if you don’t enter the parks.

Yes, you can buy it together and use the tickets later. If you do not go back before the expiration date, they will apply the ticket price to the cost of new tickets and you will pay the difference if any.

Thank you both for the responses.
Unfortunately your answers are contradicting, haha.

I have a feeling that since this has a Costco promo with a gift card, there wouldn't be a "cash equivalent".

So if I mark reservations (required during the booking process) but I don't show up that shouldn't matter as the tickets were never scanned in?

Yes, 2 people for 2 days with genie+ pre-paid. Seems like my conference weekend I'm attending is a higher than usual hotel rate for the Hilton Anaheim.

Are the tickets exactly the same? Do they both have hoppers, and Genie+?

Tickets are identical. I opted out of hoppers for this time.
