Costco cakes?

A few years ago I ran into a friend at Costco and she showed me a custom cake that Costco had made. The design was really simple, it looked the Monster High skull.
My question is, has anyone ordered a 'custom' cake from Costco? The theme for my daughters birthday party is 'princess' and their princess cake is so 'generic' looking.
Another question I had - does BJs still offer the 45 day trial? If so, could I order a cake from them? I like their cakes so much better!

I don't know the answer to either of your questions, sorry. But do they offer photo images on the cakes? You could take a non copyrighted pic in and have them use that for the image if so. Would your daughter like to dress up as a princess and take a pic or do you have a pic of her and her favorite princess from DW vacation?

Well, she's turning 1 so I don't think she'll mind the picture on the cake. Lol! Thanks for your help.

Normally I make my daughter's cakes but last August I got her bday cake at Costco. It was huge, generic looking, but delicious. They will put your daughter's name on it.

We ordered sheet cakes for DD's wedding reception, they were amazing!!!!! I love their cakes.

I don't believe Costco will do custom cakes. I know the one here won't so we stopped ordering after seeing the selection. We now get our cakes from BJs. They taste better, are only $2 more and you can get almost any design on them. My son't party was this past Sat and people were getting 2nds on the cake. Yummy!!

As for the design, we had them make the top plain and we added a fingerprint and "happy birthday Agent M" in our own gel. They didn't have a fingerprint and this was a spy party. So they did customize it but did so so we could make it our own. They have done that the last 2 years for us.

Our Costco will do minor customizations. We usually have them leave one area flat which we decorate ourselves.

I agree! I loooove their strawberry filling! We have no reason to be a member anymore though because my son is way out of Pampers and they're too far away.

Our Costco has become very rigid on customization. First, they wouldn't do just a plain pink cake. Now they won't even put vanilla cheesecake filling in a chocolate cake. They have a certain cake they are willing to do and that's it. One year I found a very nice lady in the bakery who brought me a book of their past cakes. I was able to pick out of a cake with an airplane on it. When it was done I didn't say anything since I asked for something special but it didn't look good at all.

If it's important to you I would go elsewhere for customization. Do you have a whole foods? We had my dd's 10th birthday cake done there and it was Hawaiian theme. It was gorgeous. We couldn't stop looking at it and it tasted great.

Thanks! The nearest Whole Foods is about 30 minutes away.
I'm trying to keep the cost down, or else I would splurge on a cannoli cake from the local bakery. . I may just go that route.

I got a big cake for my husband's birthday one year from the Super Walmart. It was very tasty and they were willing to do some customization.

Look for a cake decorating supply store in your area and ask them for a referral. I have had some wonderful cakes done by folks working out of their homes at very reasonable prices. And customization is never a problem.
