My 12yo daughter and I are staying at CSR in mid-January and are wondering which building is the best to stay in. We don't plan on using the pool so that is not a location priority for us. Priorities are #1 bus stop and #2 dining.

Thanks!

Casitas Bldg 1-3 are very close to El Centro, but these are a preferred room category. The bus route is:
Bus stop 1: El Centro
Bus stop 2: Casitas
Bus stop 3: Ranchos
Bus stop 4: Cabanas

My favorite location is Casitas 4.

It's the closest to the best bus stop, it has an extra large quiet pool (double the size of the other two) so you don't have to go to the main pool. It makes for a nice sitting area if you don't want to swim. The fitness center and salon is in that building. Laundry is in that building. It is also the closet building to the food court without paying for a preferred room. About 3-5 min walk depending on your walking pace.

Park buses start at bus stop 2 (2, 3, 4, 1). Disney Springs buses start at bus stop 1 (1, 2, 3, 4).

Thanks for the update, I got this from the CSR thread and I thought it was different than that but figured maybe it has changed.

Some of the Cabanas rooms aren't that far from El Centro, I like that area. But it is right next to the construction, so if you plan to be at the resort during the day, you may want to just go with Casitas.

She lists bus stop as number 1 priority so I think they would have better bus experience in Casitas. Sometimes the buses can fill up at the later stops when the resort is busy.

That's cool, just sharing my perspective. The first time I stayed at CSR my priority was to be by bus stop #1 too, but during that stay and others I've come to realize you don't need to be at the first bus stop to get a seat. Personally, I've never been on a full CSR, even during busy times of the year. That's one of the perks of it being a convention resort - people attending conventions don't go to the parks in the morning.

We always go in December. We've been there in early December when its slower and right through actual Christmas when it's crazy.

We actually always stayed Business Class Cabanas 9B when that still existed and loved that location. The short walk to the El Centro bus stop was awesome. That being the last stop to pick up to the parks was never a problem until the full on Christmas crowds arrived. It was ok up until the 24th. After that you could count on full buses by the time they got to that stop.

Casitas 4 is the best for buses though. We've had stays of 12 and 14 nights in that building and its great to be the first stop picked up.

The buses were pretty full last year in the second week of December, which had not been our experience in previous years. On previous trips we had been in Casitas and would walk to El Centro to get on at the last stop for a shorter bus ride and never had any problems. Last year we were in Ranchos (the second stop for parks buses) and sometimes had to stand. Buses even skipped the last stop a few times because they were full.

If you can book a preferred room, you'll be guaranteed a room in Casitas buildings 1-3, which I also agree is the best location for the bus stop. The bus stop is actually closer to Casitas 4, which is not a preferred building, but there's no way to guarantee you'd be placed in that building. The only way to guarantee a Casitas room is through booking a preferred room.

We just spent 10 days in Casitas 3 and thought it was a good location. Right next to the quiet pool and an easy walk to El Centro. It's a decent walk to the Dig Site pool. The bus stop wasn't a bad walk, but the best part was being the first pick up and first drop off (except Disney Springs). Casitas 1 and parts of Casitas 3 are facing the construction on the lagoon, so I would request a room facing the courtyard or parking lot if you want to be on the opposite side of that. We were more on the courtyard side and heard nothing inside the room. We did notice construction was in full swing by 7am every day, even on a Saturday.
