We're leaving for Disney tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out a way to cook frozen waffles in the room...maybe with a hair dryer...or an iron with foil or wax paper?

Has anyone tried this? I'd rather not bring a toaster if I don't have to.

Thanks.:santa:

Seriously?!!!!! Walk over to the food court where they have toasters and heat them up there. BTW, how did you expect to keep your frozen waffles frozen? Those disney refrigerators dont have very big freezer compartments.

OOHhh dear. You know, I've ACTUALLY seen a youtube of a guy making grilled cheese by using foil and an iron....

I'd just pop by the food court. Or... go get some mickey waffles at the food court instead :goodvibes

You really should not have waited until you were leaving to ask this question. I'd hate for you to starve at Disney because you were ill prepared.

If you are driving here is a great way to cook up your morning meals: http://www.wisebread.com/cooking-great-meals-with-your-car-engine-the-heat-is-on .Everything should be piping hot just in time to catch the boat at TTC. Eat up crossing the lagoon. Your family will feel so special enjoying breakfast on the water each morning!

There are so many breakfast foods you can eat in your room that don't require cooking, so why make this so complicated? I can see a lot going wrong with wax paper -- a mess on the iron and wax and your waffle.

I always bring a bag of charcoal with me and make a barbeque pit in the bathtub. You can not only make burgers for dinner, you can also reheat food during the day.

Just remember to pack a fire extinguisher!

Bravo! :rotfl:

You are kidding! You think it will be easier to use a hair dryer :confused3 than just taking your toaster? Cereal seem like a much easier option.

If I decided not to lug my bag of briquettes, I'd use a hair dryer. A toaster would be soooooo pedestrian.

Why add stress? Just go to the food court or take something that does not need to be heated up.

Another option is to go to the Walmart when you get there- I purchased last summer an Oster Toaster for 6.42 and a cheap blender for 13.00... SO, smoothies and waffles/taster streudels for breakfast.. When I was done, I "gifted" the appliances to housekeeping .

From a couple of the OPs previous posts, her son has food allergies. Maybe these waffles are one of the few things he can eat.

OP, there is a toaster in the food court that you can use. Although, as a previous person mentioned, you might not be able to keep your waffles frozen in the hotel fridge since the freezer compartment is so small. When we stayed at Old Key West villa once, we just took the waffles out of the box and they fit ok into the little compartment.

The only other real option is to bring a toaster (or buy one in Orlando). But I don't think using a toaster in the hotel room is allowed.

Next time I would recommend staying in one of the villas. We really enjoyed OKW and it had a microwave, fridge and toaster. I think a coffee pot too, but not sure.

If this legit...I would use the toaster in the food court. If OP's son really does allergies enough to warrant this action, there could be cross contamination from wheat bread or other grain bread being toasted in a public toaster. Why not consider transportation to DD each night to pick up tomorrow's breakfast of muffins (or cupcakes;)) from the new Babycakes that specializes in treats for gluten intolerant people, etc. You could wrap them and save them for breakfast in the room.

Actually, if it is due to allergies , I have heard that it is possible to alert the chefs at even the value food courts abd they can have allergy free food available to cook. There is a special diets hotline to call and make arrangements alt==though I do not have the number- I know someone here can supply.

FWI-Toasters are allowed. We have used one in our room for years. Never had a problem.

I would buy and bring along a cheap one. The ones from WM for about $7 work fine. ;)
