I have never stayed at the Contemporary, have gone thru on monarail, and have stayed on 6 other Disney properities. My daughter invited me to go with her and my 3 grandchildren in May and to split the cost, which is fine. She got a room at the Contemporary for $66/73.26(with tax) a night, military(Shades of green is closed). I know that's even less then the All Stars sometimes so I am glad for the rate since this is a inbetween vacation for me. I think it would be neat to stay in the Tower, but what is the wing/standard like? That is where the room is. Thanks.

The tower is the building the monorail runs through; the wing is the low level building next to it. Standard can mean a lot of different areas in the wing and views vary but don't excpect unfettered view of MK or lake. Rooms are large with two queens and a daybed.

I think the wings are the same size rooms as the tower but the location is on either side of the tower. try a search on this board for some of the SOG folks who have been this past summer. Ssome have loved it and others have not. I don't think the rooms are as large as the SOG rooms. It is great to stay in the Tower but if I could stay in the wing for $66 a night I would hop on it and be happy as could be.

My son loves the Contemporary (over any other resort) and, so far, we have only stayed in the Wings. The best rooms (in my opinion) are on the 1st floor. We think it's a great resort, especially for that price. Enjoy.

We stay at the CR in May through the SoG relocation. I really wasn't looking forward to the CR, it just really didn't seem like my cup of tea. I would prefer SoG, WL or AKL.
Well I was plesantly suprised. While the decor isn't what I would decorate my home in it wasn't too loud like I was afraid of. We stayed on the second floor right next to the playground. With 3 kids in the family, you might want to ask for a ground floor room facing the playground. The rooms themselves are very large. The Day bed was very comfortable according to my 13 DS. He isn't a tiny kid (5'4", 130 lbs) and he had plenty of room. The convience of the walkway to MK was a big plus in my book. The bus stop is very close to the NGW also. I like the monorail access, but IMHO it was a good walk to it (but no further than what we had at ASMu to the bus stop).
