Has anyone switched their internet service to the pre-paid Comcast/Xfinity NOW internet service? What has your experience been? Was it easy to change? Any issues with speed or throttling?

I can't help you with experience, but note the "STARTING AT $30/mo." That can mean anything from a very basic package is $30/month or the $30/month is an introductory rate that will jump up at three, six, nine, twelve, or whatever months down the road.

Not saying either of those is bad necessarily, but know what you're getting price wise.

This is a pre-paid no contract service. Yes it could go up at some point but Comcast already does annual rate increases with their contract plans that cost twice as much. So this is not a concern for me.

We just got rid of our Comcast wired internet and cable. I really hated Comcast/Xfinity from our 3 years with them. Is this a 5G service? I know people using T-Mobile who are happy with it. We waited until Verizon put in Fios fiber optic internet in our area and switched to them.

I think ALL of these service providers end up costing about the same with their gimmicky 'up to' initial pricing. They are always cagey about how much it will cost when the 'special' price ends.

What services are offered where you live matters, since every provider isn't available in every city.

I noticed Comcast has started giving you the after initial contract period pricing when you look at pricing. The pre-paid is not an introductory price. It is the same as say StraightTalk or Visible. You have to do everything online with no or very limited customer service.

I am mostly curious about if anyone has switched from a standard Comcast service to the pre-paid and what their experience is. I am not really concerned about the pricing. Prices are always going to be at risk of going up.

Also want to add that Comcast is pretty much the only option for internet in my area. So my options are either keep what I have but lock into a discounted $50 rate for 12 months with a discount of $19/month for 300mbps or save $40/month for 100 mbps on the prepaid.
