Choosing seat when booking with RBC Avion?

For those of you who have booked flights through RBC Avion, were you able to choose your exact seat at the time of booking or did you have to wait until you checked in for your flight on the day of travel?

We are about to book 2 flights with RBC points but I would need to buy another ticket separately so the thee of us can fly together. Just wondering if I will get to pick our seats?

depends on the airline. We used Avion points for a few trips. When we all used them one trip, I called AC and USAir myself and booked the seats after the reservations were made. The second trip we had only two tickets with points on WestJet and purchased the other two. The agent should have linked teh two reservations but didn't. The day before when I went to check in, I found out that we were separated with teh children in sep areas of the plane than us with no ability to change seats. Called in a panic and they fixed it. I then paid to get assigned seats for the trip back. HTH

I booked last year through Avion for AC and it was a Tango Plus fare so I got to pick my seat at the time of booking.

I will be booking my flights tomorrow and I am trying to get a United Airlines flight, hopefully I can book my seats!

We used our RBC points to book our AC flights for next month and we were able to book our 4 seats at time of booking. Hope it goes well for you.

I booked our flights today and got everything I wanted, including being able to choose my seats

I booked each flight segment with seats A and C. I am hoping no one will book seat B until I am able to purchase that third flight that we need. Right now it is $806 so I want to wait and see if it comes down a little before I have to book it
