does anyone know if the characters will sign vinylmation figures (the plain white ones)? if so, are there any special requirements?

I saw someone doing it at Magic Kingdom. They had a sharpie and just had the character sign the figure. Didn't look like it was a big deal for the CM or character.

we are going on our first cruise in a month. The second best thing I learned on this board is that you can drop off items to get autographed by all the characters ( the first being the FE ). After some research, I got my three kids a pillow case, my wife a mat, and a 9" vinylmation for myself. Well my kids love buying vinylmations now. Now they want a vinylmation for themselves signed. I would love to do this instead for them, but I am unwilling to pay $40 a piece. Now I don't mind doing the 3" ones for them, but are those too small to get autographed. Has anyone done the 3"? how did you like it? I know the 9" is far superior, but I was just wondering if the 3" comes out nice?

we plan on doing the 3" on our cruise in June. hopefully, itll come out good. we just want the fab 5 signatures so hopefully there will be enough room.

I cannot imagine that the Fab 5 characters could sign something that small, a 3" vinylmation, all 5 of them. Think of their HANDS. It would be hard for them to hold and see, I think??

The Disneystores also sell a white fabric mickey, that is made for signatures. It is about the same size of the large vinyl. I forget the price, $15-20 I would guess. It comes in a box, with a few colored markers.

I see your point. But on a cruise you drop it off at guest services and they put it back in your room on the last day. So I am guessing when they sign these ones, they are not in costume.

I heard today (at TDS) that they are going to stop allowing the characters to sign the vinylmation at WDW...... can anyone confirm this? Apparently the story is Disney is unhappy with people selling signed ones on Ebay......

PS the make your own vinyls are all on sale at TDS. The 3" are $3.99 and I forget what the large ones are, maybe $7.99. The stores will only carry the black ones going forward (and the black ones are not on sale). The IP stores are transferring the sale ones to the outlets. We had no white ones left, of either size.

.

Any update on this? There is all sorts of Disney stuff I am sure that Disney doesn"t like on Ebay. Why pick on innocent vinylmations?

Got this signed last week on my cruise

I saw Mickey sign a baseball once. He mimicked wiping his brow because of how hard it was to sign something that small and curvey, but he managed.:cool2:

I know it's been awhile since anyone has posted here but in case someone else stumbles upon it like I did.. I wanted to note that I tried having characters sign my 9" vinylmation at Disneyland and they refused (Mary Poppins said she "couldn't defile her boss".... I'm assuming the cruises are different because they do it "backstage" but just in case anyone was wondering.

I know this is old news, but when I saw it today I just had to question: People were actually buying things on eBay because they were signed by (cover your ears/eyes, kids) fictitious characters? Seriously? I need to back away from eBay for a while, in case I get that nutty.

No offense to all you who get them signed, and the photos of the vinylmations are *really* cute. But how can you guarantee authenticity of a fictitious signature? I can't even seem to verify real pins on eBay!

I work with Characters everyday and something like this would be communicated to us. Nothing has been said and I see no reason for them not allowing it.

They can sign Ipads, T-Shirts, Casts, Stuffed Toys and about a million other things.

This preview of an upcoming 3" may be, in part, from folks like us asking for autographed vinyls. It is only a 3" but still cool!
