Sue and group;
Sorry I don't hang out here as much as I used to, life has been unsurprisingly chaotic, and I've been spending a lot of time w/ the disboutiquers...
But anyway, I know some people were looking for more neurodiverse designs, and here are the ones rumblytumbly helped us with last year. They're not family specific, but I know she's taking a break right now, so I thought I'd share these if anyone needs them.
One of our children, DD has ASD, ADHD (very severe), Seizure Disorder, etc. and our sone has PDD and ADHD. There wasn't room for all the "stuff" on the shirts, but I wanted to "match" and also celebrate their differences and uniqueness, so we asked for help with these.
I was also wondering if we could set up a sticky or something with tips for what to bring/do w/ ASD kiddos.
like:
travelling during low crowds if at all possible
using a service like TGM
using a stroller/special needs stroller/ w/c as a nest or "base of operations"
GAC(know there's already a sticky about that)
renting a car
using a visual schedule
for us, having a hip pack with all the sensory essentials:
1. chewy
2. fidgets
3. mp3 player
4. game console (this year, they'll have our old iphones that way in a small space they'll have video, audio, and games in one place0
5. sunglasses
6. hat
7. poncho
8. ear protectors
9. snack
Allowing our kids to freely access their "kit" really helped empower them and decreased the meltdowns alot.
It seems like new parents are coming in all the time, though and I'd love for them all to have access to what has worked for us, because otherwise, some threads get missed, or we are constantly repeating everything.
WDYT?
