SHould I be bringing more cash to pay for the taxis or will they take credit card?

I doubt they would take a credit card. Definitely bring cash.

Credit Cards, I do not think they can even take those. Have you ever seen what they are? They look like someone has taken a pick-up truck and thrown benches with a tarp over them in the back of a pick up. It cost you about $10 per person each way to a place like Coki Beach in St. Thomas. They sometimes will even act as if they do not have change if you give them a larger bill.;) So prepare and bring cash in $5 & $10s.:hippie:

I would use cash. We used our credit card for a Jeep rental on Cozumel and our number was stolen. Apparently, our information was sent to the US because we found out that multiple gas purchases were made in NYC all on the same day (we weren't even back from the cruise yet).

Pay with cash only. You don't want any surprises down the road. We met a couple on the beach in St. Martin from our ship. The DH had forgotten his credit card and a jewelry shop. It was the last stop of the day and he didn't realize this until he was back on board. In less then 4 hours he card was completly maxed out. $10,000. We saw his later by the pool. The credit card company covered the charges but he had no credir card to use to get off the ship. I would never use a credit card but if you do, bring a back up in case something goes wrong.

And agree on the taxi fare up front, not after you get to your destination.

In St.Maarten we rented a car for the day for 30 dollars. If you lower your standards you won't be dissapointed :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We even stopped at a car wash and vaccuumed it out so we could drive around in a somewhat cleaner car.
