I have booked this tour for my family (myself, DH & DDs aged 12 & 9) and would love to hear from anyone who has done this tour their thoughts - thanks :)

We just did this excursion on Friday!!!!

We had a great time.

I am happy to give a short review, because I could not find any info on this but booked it anyway.

DH, me and DSs 20, 16 and 14. We all have snorkeled before. We met the DCL staff and other shipmates who were going on the excursion in the District Lounge. After about 10-15 minutes, once everyone was checked in we were escorted off the ship by a DCL CM and where we met up with Alex from our boat.

We followed Alex to the boat, which was a 5 minute walk from the ship. Just outside the port gate. We boarded the boat. There were about 35 of us from DCL and then another group from NCL joined us. There were about 80+passengers.

The boat was full, but it is large, very clean and in good shape. The staff were very professional.

It was maybe a 25 minute ride to the snorkel site. Two of the staff distribute the snorkel gear on the way. We stopped at an area between to land areas. We were closer to a uninhabited area, nature area. There were few other snorkel and dive boats there. The water was warm, clear and not too deep. The snorkeling was really good, great coral formations, plant life and lots of different fish. Snorkeling was between 50-60 minutes. Some people did a little less.

The staff had a couple lines out with a float and they had life vest open for inexperience swimmers to use as floats. One of the staff stayed in the water with us and kept an eye on everyone. They did not let you get to far away. I felt they did and excellent job.

I loved it.....it was tiring....but fun.

Once aboard, the bar was open for drinks, water or soda and snacks if needed.

Alex on the way back gave us a little tour and info on the area we passed. Including pointing our celebrities homes that we passed.

I was very happy with the excursion. I picked because it was short, in the afternoon and not too much money. I also wanted to do something in Nassau. On our last cruise to the Bahamas, Hurricane Irene had just gone thru so no CC and Nassau was not in good shape.

I would do it again if I was in Nassau.....:thumbsup2

Have a great time! :)

I did this excursion in March. I agree with all the logistical points of the previous poster but I personally would not recommend it. We saw very few fish and nothing too remarkable. We actually thought the snorkeling at Castaway Cay was much better and we never even made it to the designated snorkel area, we just snorkeled at the adult beach.

I had debated this one or the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel, and reading that review I'm glad I went with the latter. Less than 50 people meant more room and fewer people in the water. Saw a good number of fish on that one.

But any day on vacation is better than a day at work! :)

The snorkeling off the beach at CC is no where as good as the Caribbean Queen. Maybe the adult beach is better. I also did a snorkeling excursion in Grand Cayman which was right in the harbor- reef and wreck and I thought this one was better.
We saw hundreds of fish and very large coral reefs that were beautiful and colorful coral and plants.

The water was also much clearer then CC. CC has a lot of sea grass and sand that stirs up.

Thank you for the feedback - I did not expect so much people on the boat but at least now I am prepared :)

We did this excursion last May, 2013, myself, my father in law and my two kids, 8 and 11. The price is right and it was nice, could have been the day we went, but where we snorkeled the current was really strong and it was difficult to casually swim, you had to keep making sure you were not getting too far away.

The coral and reefs did not look healthy, but we did see fish.

All in all it was good, but just a really strong current made it difficult
for us.

Plus one tacky thing, they had a handwritten sign on a piece of white paper at the bar, written on it in marker was 'Spring Break Special, 2 for 1 rum punches". I said I will have the special and pointed to the sign, not kidding, she said and I quote, "No special, it is not Spring Break" Really? they have a piece of paper tapped to the wall, she did not bother to take the sign down??

Makes me wonder what was the sign still up for?
