Hi All, just wanted send a note saying I booked a car rental last night through Alamo in DTD and thought it was a great price. I also compared it to the Alamo on Katella. I thought for sure that the DTD might be more expensive than on Katella but I was wrong!! The DTD price, for the same car and dates was $30 cheaper than at the same place on Katella. Just a word to the wise:surfweb:Shop around even if its the same company but different location!!

We used Alamo at DTD for our trip last month. They were quick and easy to work with! We only used the car for one day and were able to drop it off after hours without any issues!

How cheap was it? I got my car for 11 days at 15 dollars a day from long beach airport....total of 225.

Hi Rune74, I certainly didn't get it as cheap as you did!! It was $102 for 3 days. I don't need any extra insurance either, also found out with a gold Mastercard that I get another 25% off so about $75 in the end I think. Overall I think you got a better deal for your length of time BUT you may want to check it out! Have a magical time!!

Yeah, you should check out priceline whenever you rent a car you can get some great deals.

Hi The Mad Planner, this is a little off topic of rental cars but I see you hail from Canada too!! I noticed that you have spent most of your Disney trips in the summer months. We are headed there in July and I am worried about crowds and heat, any advice from someone who has lived through it??? I have twin 11 year old boys that I will have in tow as well!! Thanks!

I got a mid size car with that...its for oct 17 top 27th...

Last time I went down booked teh same car and got upgraded for free to a luxary car....weird eh?

Hi Disneylovers2000,

Nice to meet a fellow Canadian. Thank-you for the reply on the rental car question. My family which also includes 2 kids similar in age to your boys are from the Okanagan where are summer temperatures are equal to or greater than Anaheims. However, I wouldn't concern yourself with the heat. Disney does a great job while you are in line keeping you shaded or misted etc. With that said I have some tips to beat the heat:

Wear Hats.
Bring a small soft sided cooler with 6-8 water bottles (freeze a couple to keep the rest cold). You can refill the bottles in the park.
Bring single packets o lemonade, iced tea or kool ade to add to your water as a treat for the kids and to save you big money.
Plan your shows, Aladdin, Turtle Talk, Muppets, E/O etc. in the heat of the afternoon to get a break from the sun.
Plan your wet rides Splash and GRR for the mid day.
If it is really hot invest in Diney misting spray bottle ($15). My kids bought them as a souvenir and they are great when you are in a longer line.

I regards to beating the crowds.

Arrive early.
I am a big beleiver in having a plan (thus the name The Mad Planner)
Invest the $15 in Ridemax and use it
Ensure that your family buys into the plan
Read Hydroguys FastPass tips. Use FASTPASS!
Park hop when Disney gets busy
Invest the time to stake out a spot early for World of Colour, Fantasmic and Fireworks as the crowds are large and you want a good spot.

With this strategy our family does everything we want to do (almost everything) multiple times and rarely wait over 20 minutes for any ride.

Hope that helps:)
