Had asked where to have a meal where we could watch Wishes. Can't book one because neither GF Cafe or Wave offer those views. So, i'm changing directions.

Now debating on what to book for a Valetine's night dinner. Doesn't have to have fireworks of any kind. Just looking for a good place for the evening. Got Frontera Concina now. But thinking about these as well: Coral Reef, GF Cafe, Boathouse, STK.

Help me out. Thanks.

No way from the Wave. Pretty sure they don't even have a window in there, much less one that faces Fireworks. You'd be pretty far from walking anywhere to see them too. It wouldn't be just stepping out on the deck

We've done GFC and I can't recall that it would face MK but I don't think it would, and the buildings of GF would block most anything since it's on the ground floor.

We have eaten at Citricos and lucked out with a table that could see Wishes. There are very few. We didn't even consider them when we booked and it was pure luck to get to see them.

My wife and I just booked a trip to WDW for the weekend before Valentines, and we're trying to find somewhere to eat on Valentines night. Right now, we've got Frontera Cocina booked, but we're wanting to get somewhere where we could possibly see Wishes fireworks.

They have openings at both Grand Floridian Cafe and the Wave around 8 p.m., and Wishes begins at that time. I was curious if you could see Wishes from either place or if they allowed you to get up and go outside (like at Narcoossee's) and see the fireworks.

Your thoughts are all over the place. None have Wishes views. Frontera Concina & STK are in Disney Springs. Coral Reef is in Epcot. Hollywood Brown Derby is in Hollywood Studios. All are miles from the MK and Wishes views.
As @AngiTN stated neither of the other 2 have lagoon views.
It is late to find an ADR for Valentines for a restaurant that has a view. Try 'OHana, Ca Grill, Narcoossee's or plan to eat in that area early and watch from the beach.

THIS
I would aim for Ca Grill,
if nothing ...
Book something that you can walk outside to the beach .... Poly or GF.
I would book 2 hours before the fireworks if going to beach.
Then keep trying to pick up a cancellation.

Yes, I know my thoughts are all over the place. But the deal was to ask about the Wave and GF Cafe. Once I was told those weren't options to see fireworks, I asked for opinions on just a good meal for Valentine's. Not necessarily a fireworks view. Just a good restaurant.

Editing your initial post after replies is misleading, at best. We answered the questions you asked.
Updating your questions is great, changing your post - not so much.

We really enjoy the Wave for dinner. Never a bad meal there at all. Service is always good and food choices for most tastes. I hope you have a nice Valentines dinner.

Ok, if you still want to see the fireworks eating at The Wave and then going out onto the 4th floor viewing area at CR will give you that. You just have to coordinate timing. I love that place but lately there have been reports of inefficient venting and a heavy fish smell upon entering for dinner. Not awesome for a Valentine evening!

I would keep Frontera Cocina if fireworks aren't a big deal. Good to great reviews are coming from there and I love Mexican fare.

If you like the cuisine better at The Boathouse, dine there. It's sounds like a nice atmosphere, especially outside, and is also generally well-liked.

Coral Reef and GFC are more of a lunch thing in my mind. STK holds no appeal to me, but if you're a clubber you might enjoy an evening there.

The prime viewing on the 4th floor will not be available due to the Highway in the Sky Dine Around that has that area reserved. I would stick with beach viewing.

Oooh, I thought that it was just an area roped off and shared with HITS. I should go back to that thread. I thought that I remembered people going up a flight or so from the 4th floor, too. Is that still available during the progressive dinner viewing?

It is but it's blocked by the monorail track

In order to time for WIshes you may need to compromise on dining options. I woudl see if GFC is open and then go to the beach after dinner.

If you can be in a park, I would skip trying to see Wishes and I would book something in teh WC, and tehn grab a nice beverage and enjoy Illuminations together.

I am not sure what wil be open, but give San Angel Inn a try. It is romantic and the food is good. I woudl compromise on the timing if need be, and eat early, then stroll the WC until its time for think about your spot for Illuminatuions. To me, Wishes is sentimental for Disney fans, but Illuminatiuons is kind of powerfully moving. Both are wonderful.

Had asked where to have a meal where we could watch Wishes

1) Cali Grill.
2) The options you mentioned have no view.
3) Magic Kingdom "Wishes" restaurant viewing
. . . Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party - great view
. . . California Grille - excellent table view, excellent balcony views
. . . Narcoossee's - good view, good balcony views **
. . . Ohana - good view from a few tables, no view from all other tables ***

* = Approx 50% of the tables
** = Approx 30% of the tables
*** = Less than 20% of the tables

Am I the only one wondering if the OP will be able to get a table anywhere? Valentine's Day Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are the four most in-demand table service days in the World.

To contribute to the original question:
Wave: no view
GFC: no view

If you want to eat and watch, your options are:
California Grille
Narcoossee's
Citrico's (limited number of tables facing the fireworks)
'Ohana (limited number of tables facing the fireworks)

Close by, and you'd have to go someplace nearby to see the fireworks:
Wave: Walk to MK (or accept obstructed view on 4th floor balcony). If you are a DVC member, TOTWL. If you are staying in BLT, the 5th floor walkway.
'Ohana: Poly Beach
GFC, Citricos: GF Beach or Boat Dock

Ah, I thought I was going crazy. I didn't quote the original thread and when I read the new question I thought "how on earth did I think they were asking about seeing Wishes from The Wave or GFC? They don't say that, I answered wrong. Then I realized the first post got changed. I'm still probably going slightly crazy but at least it wasn't all me this time.

In the future, a better idea is to do an additional post in the thread with the new questions. Otherwise makes the thread really make no sense. Remember, somewhere along the way this thread could help answer someone else's question, but only if the original question is left

I tried to edit OP and title because I'm no longer looking for a place to watch Wishes for dinner that night. Obviously that's out of the question.

However, since I couldn't edit title and change what I was looking for, I decided to edit OP. But forget it. I'll just start a new thread with my new question. That is somewhere nice for Valentine's Day out of the options I put up there.

A question asked was if you'll be able to find anything much for that night at this point. I say out your date into the dining reservation spot and see what is available. Go from there. We can give you awesome spots all day but two weeks out many of those places will be booked up.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but can you get apps and drinks at the bar at either Narcoossee's or Cali Grill and still have access to their fireworks views? That could be an option.

And I think the area at the Grand Floridian in front of Gasparilla's (their quick service) is a good location for watching the fireworks. They were having a fireworks party in this area at one time (a free one), not sure if that's still going on. My understanding is they pipe the music in and everything. So you could eat dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, enjoy the Grand's lobby (orchestra, shopping), and catch the fireworks out in front of Gaspy's?

If fireworks don't matter, just look at the menus and reviews of whatever places are available and go from there.

The Wave actually gets great reviews. If you timed it right, you could eat there, hop on the monorail to the TTC (very first stop from Contemporary), and watch Wishes from there.
