Hello! We bought resale DVC in Aug 2019 and I read that direct purchasers get a blue card and resale gets white. I went online to request a membership card but it said I wasn’t eligible to get a card. I was, however, able to screen shot a temporary membership card that expires in 3 months. Question: how do I get a white card or did the rules change and they’re not issued anymore?

You can only take a screen shot of your card, or print out one at home if you don't quality for DVC Membership Perks.

White cards were never issued, only Blue Cards were sent out to qualified members.

Oh! Thank you for the info! I know most perks aren’t available to resale owners but what about the smallest ones like dvd rentals? Just wondering how I would show proof of ownership in the future if it was required for even the smallest benefits.

You will notice your online white card expires in 3 months....from whenever you click to view your card. The expiration date is always 3 months from "today"; whatever date "today" is.

This prevents you from vacating your membership, and using a screenshot or print out forever. You could fake it for three months.

This doesn't make any sense. Blue cards have actual benefits and are physical.

Honestly I think they do 3 months to keep reinforce they "your second class" compared to the physical blue card.

If you go on the member site and look at your digital blue card it shows the same way. It will give a 3 month expiry and updates every time you pull it up.

Correct,,,for my last trip I decided to try to just use my digital card and took a picture of my license to see if it would work for discounts and such,

The card has the 3 month expiration. And, other than one place in Epcot, who asked to see the real license..which I did bring since I didn’t know if it would work...all the rest took what was one my phone!

I don't think the three month expiration is meant to be discriminatory, it’s that way for blue cards as well.
