Boma breakfast with toddler

Staying at CR. I’m having a tough time trying to schedule Boma breakfast. We don’t have any rest days. Would it be too much going before our AK day. I really wanted to get to AK early since we are going in summer and animals are more active in the morning. Any suggestions on how to pull this off? Thanks!!!

How late does Boma breakfast run? I feel like at times, AK opens super early, you might be able to get there before rope drop and knock out what you can before the safari and then head to AKL after you do the Safari, and then go back to AK.

I would be more inclined to do a late breakfast closer to lunch time.

While I very much enjoy AK and have stayed there an entire day.... Summers are rough. Many years when park hoping was anytime (now back) we would be there 8am and done by 10:30am
I would suggest a later breakfast as above... the afternoons can be very humid (yeah but its worse) at AK making the heat feel a lot worse.

We do the same every trip. You have two options. Option 1 is to schedule an early breakfast and then head over to AK. The bad with that is Boma can be a ton of food to eat right before a park day . If you plan on a full park day at AK then you have plenty of time at the park.

Option 2 is to rope drop the park and get in whatever you want and head to the last breakfast of the day. This works well if you spend a little amount of time at the park (we usually treat it as a half day park) and then just take the time to explore the lodge. The only bad thing with this is if bussing we have found that the buses at this time of the day often seem to sit at the park longer than usual when picking up. We did this once at sat there for some time before the bus finally left. We were late due to that.

One thing with Bomas is because it is popular we have found that seating is often late, at least during the AM hours. So I would plan accordingly if booking early that a 9AM reservation may very well be a 930 sit down. It's not as bad 1st thing in the morning and definitely not late but if you are in between just know that you may be sitting for a little bit longer.

You can do a real early Breakfast at Boma first seating is 7am and then still get to the AK rather early.... We planned on doing Boma later in the morning like 11am and go to the AK at rope drop....once we were in the Park we never nade it Boma just grabbed something in the Park to eat
