Having trouble finding goggles that actually keep water out of the eyes. It would also help if they didn't hurt my DD's head/eye sockets, as her current ones do.

Thanks!

How old is she? What does she use them for?

The children's sizes are really only intended for pretty young kids; my DD moved up to adult goggles at 9 and probably should have had them sooner because she immediately commented on how they didn't hurt like her old ones. She wears Speedo Vanquisher goggles, but she's on swim team so I don't mind spending more for hers. If you're just looking for a pair for the backyard pool or to take to the beach I'd suggest trying a no-brand adult pair before spending more on a name brand/competition style product.

My DD also is on a swim team and wears an adult size Speedo brand goggle purchased at a swim store. We also switched out the rubber band that goes around her head for a bungee like strap. It gives her more control over how tight or loose she wants her goggles to fit and also does not hurt her head.

I have four swim team kiddos here (17, 16, 12, and 7) so we have been through our share of goggles over the years. My older two (high school state level competitors) wear the vanquisher by Speedo, and the younger two wear boggles bungee racer goggles by Dolfin. The bungee cords are really great for a perfect fit easily adjusted. In fact, my older two will swipe the bungees from the pairs the younger two have discarded when the goggle part breaks. From our experience, pretty much all of the goggles sold in regular stores are either not comfortable or do not work. Try on line or a sporting goods store for a better purchase.

Thanks! DD is 7.5, and these are for casual swimming. I know she wants a decent pair, though, even if it's not every day or a serious thing.

DD swims all the time, but she can't stand having water in her eyes (our neighborhood pool is saltwater). We bought Aquasphere Seal Kid goggles and she's been really happy with them. They're bigger and one piece across both eyes - more like ski goggles - so they are more comfortable and do a good job keeping the water out.

They aren't cheap, but they've been worth it. We found them at Sports Authority, but I know you can find them online too.

We wear TYR. Great fit. Youth pair of Swimples have easy to adjust straps.

I work at an indoor aquatic center and TYR is the only brand we carry. You can find them at sports authority.

I second Aquaspheres. My daughter's pair lasted two years and that was swimming year round in a very chlorinated pool. We have since purchased a few more pairs. They are so easy to adjust and comfortable.

My 9 year old wears some like the Aquaspheres but I think hers are Speedo brand. We purchased them at Sam's club. They come with 2 regular pairs as well and her sister can use those.

My daughter swims daily and we use the TYR brand and they work wonderfully. She has no water leaks when they are adjusted properly.

My daughter is on the swim team and we've tried various brands but the TYR brand is what fits the best and lasts the longest.
