This is a question for everyone who loves Italian food. What is your favorite Italian restaurant within Walt Disney World? I would also like to know what you liked the most about the restaurant. What made it special to you?

We love Alfredos. The food was great, even though we got stuck in the back room. The main room had live entertainment and everything. It was nice.

Palio's at the Walt Disney World Swan. It's the best kept secret of the World.

Tina :)
OKW in September

I second Alfredo's. We tried it for the first time this year and the home made bread was great, being served by people in Italy in Epcot from the country was an excellent experience. Had the best Ceasar salad of my life and loved the lasagna. I get lasagna everywhere we go and this was hands down the best most outstanding tasting lasagna I've ever had. Great meal!!!

Definitely, Palio- but if you want to experience it, go soon.

It will be closing for a 'make over' and menu change on August 15th. :(

Also Palio. Its a notch or two above both mama and Alfredo. Its "fancy" Italian. Only place we ate twice on our trip few years ago! But like someone posted- its closing soon and who knows if will be similar after. I thought I read it wont be.

I sure hope they don't change the style of cooking too much. It has won AWARDS, but I don't know by what organizations (Disney in their pamphlets report that). Why change a menu that works. I hope it's a tweaking.

We just love it there!

just missing it for our next trip in September.

I was at Alfredo's probably back in the 1990s and to this day remember how wonderful the lasagna was. I was planning to return later this year when we visit Epcot, but was a little worried about recent mediocre reviews. I think I'll still plan a return visit.

Mama Melrose is our must do on every trip. We love the food and the atmopshere is nice too. I do like Alfredos, but prefer Mama Melrose.

For a more upscale Italian meal, Palio is also very good, but I have to say MM is my favorite even over that as I prefer more regular food than upscale.

We didnt like Tonys.

Another vote for Mama Melrose...I am Italian and very picky when it comes to Italian food. Also I love going there as part of the FDP

I've only tried two, Alfredo's and Mama Melrose's, and I wouldn't exactly rush back to eat at either one. I found the service to be merely adequate at both places (with a thinly veiled contemptuous attitude, oddly enough, from both servers), and the food was mostly fair-to-middling, Olive Garden type Italian American at both locations--nothing that particularly set my tastebuds afire, but then again, nothing that made them blanche in disgust either.

Bottom line, if you find Olive Garden to be the height of Italian Cuisine (and if you do, you really should expand your culinary horizons), then you should be perfectly content with either Alfredo's or Mama Melrose's.
