Beachcomber Shacks Location and Pictures

Hi everybody,

Well my parents and I are traveling to Disney World in 11 days! We're staying at Pop Century and we're super excited (well, at least I am ).

Anyhow, we're going to Typhoon Lagoon our third day there, and we booked a Beachcomber Shack (BEFORE the outrageous price increase). What I'm wondering is, where are they? I went to Blizzard Beach last year and I sort of remember seeing Polar Patios but I don't remember exactly where. But where are the Beachcomber Shacks?

Also, does anybody have pictures of them? They would be greatly appreciated, along with a type of "review" so that we know what to expect.

I DO have a few pics but I could never get them to load on to the web page. We were there in June and rented the Premium Beach Chair Space wich is just adjacent to the Beachcomber Shacks. All but 1 of the shacks is located in Getaway Glen, to the left of the wave pool and all (but 1) border the lazy rivr and have a pretty good viiew of the wave pool. The 1 shack that is not in Getaway Glen is supposedly on the other side of the wave pool and overlooks it. The spaces are assigned before you get there so I don't think you get to choose which one you want. All the Beach Chair Spaces and Shacks were rented the day we were there. I would have LOVED a Shack but at about $325, I couldn't justify it. I'll try to load my pics again tonight.

Its $$$ but we're traveling with a toddler and we want to have guaranteed shade without the worry of having our things moved. It often rains for a short period of time and we don't want our things to get wet. Having an attendant is also a nice little perk!

We rented a beachcomber shack last summer. We had shack #1; it was assigned prior to arrival.

The furniture is very heavy and there is a lot of it in the space. I would have liked to have had a lay-down lounger but there are not any. The furniture is comfortable for a short period of time but definitely not lounge furniture.

The runners only come around about once every 45 minutes. If you miss him/her, it will be awhile before you see them again. We did order lunch and had it delivered.

Having the locker in the shack was the best part. There is also a rope that goes over the entrance so when you are all out of the cabana, you put the rope up. It's not high security but it will at least make people stop and think before they would enter that space.

This is the entry to Getaway Glen and another view of the Premium Beach Chair Space. I never saw any CM's actively checking for wrist bands at the entrance to the area.
