Be Our Guest - Seating Delays with Reservations?

Last year, we had BOG reservations before the Halloween party around 5:15 p.m., but they were running 45 min - 1 hr behind reservation times, which made getting a good spot to view the parade and show a bit of a problem. Does anyone know if BOG often runs behind scheduled reservation times?? We were planning to do BOG at 4:35 p.m. on the day we are attending the Halloween party. Is it realistic to expect that we will be seated close to our reservation time?

Unfortunately, no...
I have found ALL of MKs restaurants to be really behind on party nights, as well as DAH. Not sure why, but that has been my experience.
I definitely would not want to waste my very valuable party time on waiting on an ADR, you might try arriving early at the podium and asking to be seated earlier.
The other choices would be to get CS only on a party night, or try for an earlier ADR. That may actually happen as many people she'd their ADRs as their dates get closer, so as to not incur the $10 pp no show fee.

Thank you so much. I am going to do an easy eat that day and do BOG another day. I'm disappointed to hear that they have not figured that out yet.

I believe they have a problem in terms of moving people out of teh MK restaurants. The party goers are probably fine dinign and then heading out without dilly dallying, however the non party goers have no incentive to rush. Originally I had planned to book Skippers on a party night at the last possible timeframe. My family is not interested in attending a Party, so this would be a good plan in theory. We would take a few hours in the park, try for a FP on Jingle Cruise, and then a leisurely meal at Skippers just before park close, with no need to rush out. It is our arrival day, and I thought this would be a spot to decompress before heading back to the resort. We will have a Newbie with us, and I figured she would enjoy seeing the park lit up on our way out. In practice, not so much. I tossed the plan out because while I know we are not going to linger, I did not want our Newbie part of an escorted exit on her first trip.

“ Figured out” what? It is as @Nancyg56 stated. It is diners lingering hat causes the backups. Do you advocate asking folks to leave sooner?

Exactly. As it is the park is closing an hour prior to parties to avoid some of the issues, however if anyone needs to figure out how to handle this, it is now up to the individual. Do you want to take a chance you will be in a line waiting to be seated and lose party time, or do you want to go to Columbia Harbor House and order a tuna sandwich? The backup of MK restaurants is a concern that is all over the boards, and we have warned the Op this may be problematic. At this point it is up to the OP to figure it out.
