My DH and I are thinking of spending a couple nights in Atlantic City.

Hotel recommendations? What did you like about the hotel?

What did you do there?
Casino?
Boardwalk?
Beach?

Restaurant recommendations?

We always enjoy Dis recommendations!

We used to stay at Harrahs or Borgata neither is particularly good if you were looking to go on the beach or Boardwalk but as far as I was concerned there weren't any poker tables on the beach.
Though Im not sure where there are poker tables anymore.
Both Hotels are very nice though Harrahs had a better pool area for adults only though. And just about the best buffet that ever existed though this was 2 or more years pre covid.

We haven't been since Covid, but our choices were Borgota followed by Caesars. Caesars is on the Broadwalk & across from the beach. We usually went in late Winter / early Spring as a short get away. During the day we would take drives to other shore towns (Ocean City , Avalon/Stone Harbor or Cape May)
When do you plan to visit? The Boardwalk doesn't get fully running until late May.
The Borgota buffet is good as is the Metropolitan. Our favorite was the Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the Borgota, but 😪 it is gone. Heard good things about their other top end restaurants .

AC is nice enough to gamble, if you stay at the nice big hotels with accoutrements on site and you'll like it. I never got the impression anyone bothered to build the area up for anything else so I never knew anyone to go there for any other reason. For a really nice beachy town, 45 min north is LBI & for a nice quaint place to tour with Victorians and such, Cape May is about an hour South. You can take a ferry to Delaware beaches from Cape May too, I think they have a auto ferry.

In August there is a Blue Angels air-show in AC so for that I bet there would be a lot of extras around.

My parents just went for a day trip to the Tropicana. It is being refurbished and there is a lot of construction and not a lot of tables open so I would avoid it. It was fine for them for a bus trip but they said they would have been disappointed if they were staying for the night.

Thank you for the responses!
We don’t have dates in mind, just kicking around the idea. Probably makes sense to go in the summer and visit Cape May area too.

DW and I enjoyed the Hard Rock hotel and casino.

The beach in Atlantic City is OK, but that wasn’t the focus of our trip. The Boardwalk seemed to be mostly low end tacky souvenir shops.

Cape May is really nice, and the ferry to Delaware is fun.

Ocean Casino Resort is nice and one of my favorite restaurants is Angelo’s in AC. There are outlet stores that are worth checking out if you’re there already but overall AC isn’t somewhere to wander aimlessly.

If you can do it, rates are lower Sunday thru Thursday nights. Especially in the summer. If you want to experience a Broadwalk, in addition to Atlantic City, both Wildwood & Ocean City have them.
