This is my understanding re. A/L Employee Discounts:
In January, WDW changed how it books Airline empl. discount reservations....You have to go thru WDTC, even if you're staying 1 or 2 nights, room only.....Every reservation becomes a "Package"...You get a voucher for a free round of mini-golf, or free admission to WWoS, plus a luggage tag.......1 for each person in the party. (Make sure they don't quote you a rate including
trip insurance--like a CM did to me--unless you want it)
There are other changes:
You can book through the end of the year (I made my Nov. res. in January)
You can book at ANY of the resorts (You couldn't book at DVC resorts before)
There is a $200 deposit due 2 weeks after the reservation is made........Total is due 45 days before checkin
Cancellations/Changes: Less than 45 days before, a $50 fee.....
UNLESS your change is an upgrade (i.e., from a moderate to a deluxe, or adding a night).......6 days before, $200 fee (If an upgrade, no fee, except $10 to cover the Fedex to mail your new documents)
I've made 5 reservations under the new policy.........Because I could book so far out, we could make the plane res. well in advance too...........The 45 days is a bummer-------You have to be sure you're going to go---------But the other changes have worked out better for me, at least.........
