Just wondering...dh works for Delta, and there used to be a lot of discounts for WDW and Florida, but I can't seem to find them anymore. Anyone know? Thanks.

Yes they still have airline employee discounts. When you call CRO/WDTC you have to ask them if there is any rooms available for that discount. I will tell you it is a great discount for the rooms Usually 40-50% off. No discounts on park tickets though, not since Delta stopped their sponserships. If you would like more info email me. My DH works for Leo as well ;)
hope this helps,
Sharon

Thanks for the tip. What is CRO/WDTC??? And, do you have any idea what the best hotel would be with that kind of discount??? I mean, if I'm going to get 50% off, would I be better going with a bigger resort or just stick with the moderate ones??? Last, I noticed you have the Polynesian listed as one you have been to - what did you think of it, and how expensive is it??
Thanks!!!

CRO (Central reservations Office) WDTC (Walt Disney Travel Comp.) it is the 1-407- reservations no# you call. Don't have the rest of the no# handy but it is on the Disney.com site where the booking online info is. I haven't stayed at any of the moderates so i am not sure of the discount (one of my DH friends at work got 50% of CBR though) . I do know we get that same % off at the Polynesian, and it is a wonderful resort. We are staying Polynesian GV concierge for around $225. a night with tax included(for may/june date). Stick to whatever you feel you all can afford. We have saved for this trip over the past yr. What i do and it has seemed to work (comes out to what I get when I call CRO) is go to the Disney.com website for reservations and do a room only quote whatever the total is divided it in half and that WILL be what you would pay with the discount.** Don't book online though you can't get the discount online.**
If you are interested in the Polynesian take a look at tikimans website, but beware it may make you fall in love with the place, WWW.Tikiman2001.homestead.com

I work for United a have gotten great discounts!! I have booked with CRO in the past, but this year I had to go through WDWT to get the 50% off room. They included a message for 4 free minnie golf too. They told me that things have changed and to get the discount, I had to book this way! We are staying at the Poly for $150.00/nt. for a GV. Not a bad rate!!

Nysie- not sure who you spoke with about this but when I booked room only this yr I booked through CRO and recieved the discount. When I upgraded to a package they sent me to WDWT. So you can still get a room only discount through CRO. I did it! But I have gotten CM's before that try to tell me there is no difference between the two also. I think each CM tells a different story to any question sometimes where the Reservation center is concerned. May depend on their experiance.

DNSDisney- When did you call to book your room? I called in the beginning of Feb. for a July date. I was leary of their answers to me, so I called back 3 times to see if the answer changed and it was still the same. Now I am wondering again!!

The room only booking was about a month ago then about two weeks after that I upgraded. When I called the first time I said"I need to book a room only reservation" and the gentleman said just one sec. I will put you through to CRO. And he did. When I called back I was told by WDTC that I had to go through them to upgrade (which I don't believe is true) But I went ahead and did it through them after calling twice and no one would put me through to CRO. So ... There you have it. I just didn't have the time to wrestle with the phone or WDTC trying to get to CRO again. Just got lucky the first call I guess that I got someone who was nice enough to send me to CRO.

I feel like calling them back, but I'm afraid they'd mess up my ressie!! I had to call 3 times before because the first person I spoke with couldn't even get our names correct!! I even e-mailed Mary at mousesavers and she said the same was true for bookings for travel agents. I still called Disney to inquire about it, and I guess the bottom line for me was either book this way to get 50% off or nothing.I wonder if this is the new way of merging CRO and WDWT?

If we could get someones name who works CRO then it would make things alot easier. Then we could just ask for the person and not go through the maze of calling them over and over to try and get through!

I wish I knew!! I only have the names of who I spoke to at WDWT. I even spoke to a supervisor there, and when I told her how my res. got messed up she just brushed me off!!

This is my understanding re. A/L Employee Discounts:

In January, WDW changed how it books Airline empl. discount reservations....You have to go thru WDTC, even if you're staying 1 or 2 nights, room only.....Every reservation becomes a "Package"...You get a voucher for a free round of mini-golf, or free admission to WWoS, plus a luggage tag.......1 for each person in the party. (Make sure they don't quote you a rate including trip insurance--like a CM did to me--unless you want it)

There are other changes:

You can book through the end of the year (I made my Nov. res. in January)

You can book at ANY of the resorts (You couldn't book at DVC resorts before)

There is a $200 deposit due 2 weeks after the reservation is made........Total is due 45 days before checkin

Cancellations/Changes: Less than 45 days before, a $50 fee.....
UNLESS your change is an upgrade (i.e., from a moderate to a deluxe, or adding a night).......6 days before, $200 fee (If an upgrade, no fee, except $10 to cover the Fedex to mail your new documents)

I've made 5 reservations under the new policy.........Because I could book so far out, we could make the plane res. well in advance too...........The 45 days is a bummer-------You have to be sure you're going to go---------But the other changes have worked out better for me, at least.........

hey Kathleen! I'm glad you received the same info as me! I was starting to think somone made a mistake. It is nice to be able to make a res. in advance and also to get a great discount!!
