I had mine out when I was 2 and they grew back. Not only have they grown back, but as of my last CT scan they are pretty prominent.
When they remain prominent as an adult, there is a possibility of tumors. Coupled with the sinus disease on the scan, and my history of chronic sinusitis, it's extremely likely that I will need to have my adenoids removed again.
So if anyone has any experience with adenoid surgery for adults - particularly the recovery period and pain involved, I would love to hear it. I won't know for sure until after the holidays, but I figure it's always a good idea to prepare myself
