Anyone have a SunPass mailed to them lately?

We are driving to Orlando next week. I purchased a Sun Pass transponder June 7 to be mailed to me. Their website said it takes 5-7 business days to arrive. It is also mailed by USPS with no tracking. I have yet to receive it.

I did a chat with Sun Pass and it was confirmed I bought one and they processed it. She said it will be longer delay because they are behind. She could not verify if it has been mailed or if they just process request. I feel like it’s been mailed because my account shows a new transponder number.

so at this point I have no idea if it’s lost in the mail (we have horrible mail here) or it’s just a delay. I thought I was planning ahead to make like easier but now I am just stressed out.

has anyone ordered a transponder lately and how long did it take to arrive?

Don't want to add to your stress, but packages via USPS don't take a straight route from point a to point b.
Less than a year ago I had a package shipped with tracking on it from Jersey to me in Massachusetts. It made it to Atlanta and Chicago before I finally received it 10 days later.

Since you have your new transponder number and will be driving your own car, register your license plates on the SunPass account for the transponder. There have been reports on this board that the toll-by-plate process will work even if the transponder is not in the car. Perhaps JimMIA can comment on this, since he’s an experienced SunPass user who frequents this board.

This is great advice if it will work. Hopefully, JimMIA will confirm. I will also do some research in the meantime.

I ordered ours in March. The tracking numbers for USPS didn’t work as it never showed it shipped. It did magically appear in our mailbox 5 days later.
God luck.

I think that should work. Since you'll be driving your own car and not a rental, worst case is you'll be billed full tolls instead of discounted ones, plus a couple of dollars service fee -- no outrageous rental company fees to worry about. If that were to occur, you could probably phone SunPass and convince them to adjust them.

But the system is supposed to recognize license plates linked to a SunPass account. I suggest you call SunPass the day you leave (if you haven't received the transponder by then) and pass it by them.

I ordered one on 6/2, they processed it on 6/7 and I received it on 6/17. We’re in Alaska so travel time may have been a little longer.

Thanks...Looks like ours were both processed on the same day. Hoping mine will come in the mail in the next day or so.

It should arrive in about 3-5 business days, be sure to purchase the SunPass PRO for the ability to use it beyond Florida..

Does FL have a provision for how many times they will toll by plate before you start getting fees? In IL if your car goes through too many times in a month without a transponder you get charged full tolls. Had this happen on a trip where I forgot to move the IPass from one vehicle to another.

Toll-By-Plate charges the undiscounted toll if you don't have an account. I think a small service charge is added for the entire month.

I'm not aware of any limits or extra charges if your plate is matched to an open account, but I don't know for sure.
