My daughter had what I thought was a mosquito bite on her leg, but a day later it blistered. Today she has another one on her other leg that is blistered. Could mosquito bites do this or are we likely looking at another type of insect bite?

I know DS is highly sensitive to mosquito bites. His swell, and welt up, and will sometimes get a little weepy. (sorry for the graphic description so early folks!)

I usually give him some Benadryl, and some Caladryl lotion for the itch, and he is fine in a day or two.

I never herd of that but I heard you could get VD from a door knob

DD tends to get little blister like things about a day after being bit. They aren't a typical blister but small little things that tend to weep.

Hi, if it turned into a whitehead-style blister and it's small, it could be a fire ant bite. Unfortunately they're really painful and a few days later turn into the whitehead. Just put some neosporin on it and she should be okay! Hope she feels better!:Pinkbounc

I have heard this happening more and more!! My friend's daughter had this happen to her. I know when my kids get bit this year, the bites get positively HUGE! :( I have no clue what's up with these things anymore.

We have biting black flies that cause a weepy little blister. The area around it gets swollen and red on my ds but not the rest of us. I think he's more sensitive.

Could it be chicken pox?

Or poison ivy?

Both of those things blister.

It could be a spider bite. My son had a spider bite last year. It went from looking like a normal bug bite, to a small blister to a blister 1 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch high off his leg, all in about 12 hours. It was ugly.

It happens to my youngest. Everytime he gets any kind of a bite on him it swells up and looks awful, and like deb says gets a little weepy. Its doesnt happen to the other boys, just my baby :(

I react terribly to mosquito bites. Mine get so huge and get the blister look. I have done this since I was young. It is not fun. :(

Mine get like huge welts and have ever since I got about 40 fire ants on my feet one summer (I don't know if it's related or not, but that's when it started happening to me.)

My DS has what I think is some sort of bite or sting right now that looks awful. I noticed about a week ago that he had 2 tiny spots on his feet with red skin around them. I felt bad for him, but I wasn't too surprised because I have sensitive skin, too. This morning I noticed that he's getting bumps in the perimeter of the red spots around the two spots. I'd expect it to look better, but it looks worse. I'm trying not to worry about it because he doesn't act like it hurts when I touch them. I figure that if it were really bad for him, it would hurt.

Does it just look like a blister or is it an actual fluid filled blister? If it is an actual fluid filled blister, it is probably a spider bite. That doesn't necessarily mean you need to freak out. Just keep an eye on it and on the kid who is affected. If there are no other symptoms, there is probably nothing to worry about unless it appears that the bite begins to spread or cause the tissue to die. Just keep an eye on it and try not to pop it. I have this weird thing about wanting to pop unwanted bumps.

Yea, they're fluid filled. Now I'm wondering if I have a spider nest somewhere that I'm not aware of since she has two and it even looks like a 3rd one starting on her foot.
