I stay in Hotels several times a year and this has never happened.

First morning had a slight rash and one eye slightly swollen, so thought a bug had bitten me. Second night, slept mostly on one side of face, apparently...that cheek was red, rough and itchy and both eyes were very puffy & swollen .(Took some Benedry . I stayed at this particular Hampton Inn twice before, but it was 2 years ago so the bedding or detergent could have changed , I guess?)

Has this ever happened to anyone? :confused3

It sounds like the detergent.

The only other thing is if the pillows have feathers in them and you are allergic to those?

My mother has had similar experiences at a few hotels, some at WDW and some in other states. We've kind of just chalked it up to an allergy to the detergent. It's always been the side of her face that she's slept on. I figure that (hopefully) hotels use some sort of strong, industrial strength detergent unlike the stuff that we use at home and her skin is just senstive to it :confused3

I have that problem. I am allergic to feathers, but that is only a problem in very high end hotels and they will accomodate, I'm sure. I also assume it is the detergent. When I sleep in hotels I take the shirt I wore that day (or a clean t-shirt) and put it over the pillowcase. If that doesn't do it, I use a sweatshirt or something else of mine for a pillow. When I travel by car, I take my own pillow.
