Age 18 drinking age in Bahamas

Google is telling me the legal drinking age in the Bahamas is 18.

Can our 18yo have an alcoholic beverage with us while exploring Nassau by ourselves (not on an excursion, with parents)?

If so, any recommendations for a place within walking distance or a short cab ride? Mom likes tropical drinks

Any issues returning to the ship?

Yes 18 is the drinking age in the Bahamas they can order drinks with or without you. ID may be required.
Note the drinking age on the ship itself and castaway cay is still 21.
