Does anyone know where I can find affordable rash guard type shirts for men? DH would prefer it fits more like a shirt than a second skin. He wants it mostly for sun protection.

You can get them at Academy Sports if you have one near by...they also have them on OldNavy.com.

:)

I bought one for my husband at triplejsunprotection.com. My husband wanted it big, more like a shirt, too. And they had lots of sizes. I think it was about $35, but well worth it, since I could find his size, and it fits great, and is comfortable.

Totally try Lands End - we got rash guard shirts for the whole family there and they fit great and are very comfortable - not too tight and dry super fast.

Also, check the clearance area - they often have sales and free ship codes.

Love the rash guard shirts - this Irish family is so pale we glow...we Northerners aren't used to the hot Florida sun and we burn like crazy!:yay:

Our local Sam's Club had them for around $8. I think they were Op brand or maybe Body Glove. Not sure of the fit.

I got a shirt for oldest DS at Target - Champion brand that was kind of like a rashguard shirt. It wasn't a rashguard, but it was nylon and it dried really quickly after being in the ocean. It was about $10 and he wore it in the water.

DBF just got one from Land's End, very nice but they run small, it was really short on him in his regualr Land's End size

My husband loves his Oneil rash guard. I got it on Amazon and ordered a size up. It's thinner than his Land's End one and dries fast.

I really like the Oneil one but it says slim cut, would you say that is accurate? I wonder if I just went up a size if it would be ok (DH isnt slim cut)

DH also used a champion brand shirt from Target for the pools. Very inexpensive, dried quickly. Prior to our trip our only concern was whether it would twist and pull when it got wet since its looser, (if you get what I mean??) but it worked like a charm.

The dis forums probably not the best place to discuss rashes??!

But since it's been brought up, I use "Egoderm" cream myself. Pretty fast relief and it was recommended for me by my chemist.

I know it's awkward, Good luck with it & thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

Try swimoutlet.com or Dicks. Dicks has their swimsuits on sale now.

lol bilgaraden! rashguards are shirts that you can wear that built in SPF protection eliminating the need for sunscreen. My son has a few of them, as he hates the feeling of sunscreen slimed on his body (he's very fair skinned like me, and burns easily), and my dh got one because he also hates sunscreen.

OP - my dh got one last week at Modells, Speedo brand.

For a looser fitting rash guard, make sure it says "tee". The regular ones are slimmer. Got DH the O'Neill rash tee from Amazon. Fits like a tee shirt, material dries quick.
