Has anyone sailed this itinerary - and if so, did you have pirate night fireworks?

I did Disney Dream 5 Night Spain 2024 La Coruna and Vigo From Southampton.
I went from Dublin to England, stayed overnight with my sister and then took the train to Southampton.

I then spent a day and a half in Southampton before the cruise, doing mainly Titanic sightseeing.

The hotel I stayed at was walking distance to the cruise terminal and it was a really great way to start the cruise, waking up and seeing the ship.

It was 85% UK people on the cruise. This information came from the cruise director. There were a huge amount of first time cruisers and a lot of people who had only done the the stay cation cruises on The Magic in 2021. Official passenger numbers were 3850.

It was busy, it was crowded, there were a lot of people who did not know cruise etiquette. But like last year, I had an amazing time. Going on these short August cruises from Southampton, as long as people go with open eyes and manage expectations and have a plan, and know what to expect, the cruise can be an amazing experience.

Oh I have no interest in doing a UK cruise - justifying to find out if they do fireworks for a friend

The answer is it depends.

In 2023 I did a 4 night cruise to Bilbao North Spain. We had the full pirate night. Mickeys Pirates In The Caribbean show between the 2 dinner seatings at 7.30pm and then the 25th Shimmer At Sea Anniversary fireworks.

In 2024 I did the 5 night cruise to Vigo and La Coruna, North Spain. We had an adapted pirate night. Mickeys Pirates In The Caribbean show was at 10pm, and there were no fireworks.

Only cruises assigned as Mediterranean have a possibility of fireworks. This means cruises which have ports in Spain, France, Italy, Greece.

Cruises assigned Northern or Western Europe do not have fireworks. This is due to environmental reasons , the same as Alaska cruises. This also include the British Isles cruises.

In Europe, it is the port countries which determine if there will be a possibility if fireworks.

As far as 2025 cruises, until The Fantasy gets to Spain and the first Mediterranean cruise departs from Barcelona on May 17, we wont know if there will be fireworks this year.
