Disney’s Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel is Officially Here
The Beach Club gingerbread carousel is here! This year, the theme is “A Christmas Carol.”
True to its name, the sweet and stunning display tells the story of
Mickey’s Christmas Carol through a gingerbread carousel!
Each horse in the display represents a different scene from the fan-favorite holiday film.
This story begins with Ebeneezer Scrooge acting as an unrepentant miser.
As you can see, money is all Scrooge cared about.
The second horse represents Joseph Marley (played by Goofy) and depicts the scene where the specter of Scrooge’s former business partner warns him to change his ways.
Here is a closer look.
The third steed represents the Ghost of Christmas Past, who is played by Jiminy Cricket in the film.
If you look closely, you can see the party that Scrooge and the ghost visit.
The third horse represents the Ghost of Christmas Present (Willie the Giant), who visits Scrooge alongside a gluttonous feast.
As you can see, Scrooge was not thrilled with the visit.
Finally, we have the Ghost of Christmas Future (played by Pete), who transports Scrooge to his future lonely grave.
It is this moving moment that finally gets Scrooge to change his ways.
As you can see, the Yacht and Beach Club Bakery went to painstaking lengths to faithfully retell
Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
To bring this gingerbread carousel to life, Disney bakery artisans used 432 pounds of honey, 1200 pounds of rye flour, 100 pounds of eggs, 200 pounds of icing, 200 gum paste flowers, and more! Here is the complete list of ingredients.
As you can see, 24 golden Mickey’s are hidden around the gingerbread creation in celebration of the 24th anniversary of the carousel!
Sweet Treats and Commemorative Pins
When visiting the Beach Club gingerbread carousel, make sure you stop and try out some of the sweat treats!
There are gingerbread shingles…
…peppermint bark…
And gingerbread macarons!
There are also Hannukah cookies!
The bakery also has stollen, with a fun display that explains the treat’s history!
Finally, there are even sweat options for those with a gluten/wheat intolerance.
As with other Disney resort gingerbread displays, commemorative pins are also available!
Finally, you can even meet some of the bakery artisans behind the display!
