    Holy Mortgage Rate!!

Our closing costs are about $2700 to get 2.5 % on a 15 year mortgage. No closing costs would add another 0.25-0.375. By my calculation we will recover the difference in 30 months.

I am getting $655 a week in unemployment benefits!

My daughter is a junior in college and lost her coffee shop job due to the shut down. She initially qualified for $150/wk in benefits which was enough to pay her rent but not anything else. She applied to a local grocery that was hiring and now she is feeling bad because she would have made...

Port Orleans Riverside Or Gran Destino Tower?

No question, Destino tower. The rooms are much larger, the resort tower is beautiful, so many dining and lounge options. The only reason I could imagine choosing Riverside over the Destino tower would be if you needed the fifth sleeper.

Will you get a stimulus check and how much?

$500 for our 16 y.o.,which is fine...we are both still employed so I do feel,it should go to those that need it. I was hoping DD 20 might qualify as she lost her part time college job that she used to pay her rent but since we claim her as a dependent looks like a no. Hopefully she will...

Europe cruises/travel summer 2020 -Anyone else thinking of cancelling??

I just called Delta to see if I could cancel my Sept flights to Rome. There has been a significant schedule change essentially making it impossible to make my connection so I was hoping I could cancel without a penalty. Unfortunately I was unable to cancel without forfeit of all of the miles I...

Coronavirus and DCL Megathread - Suspension of Departures for the fleet until early November. Booking only available from early December.

I keep thinking back to the book “The Hot Zone” published in the 1990’s about Ebola and Marburg. It stressed that one of the reasons these viruses were not widespread was precisely because they are so deadly. If you are infected and become terribly ill you are not walking around and spreading...

I seriously don’t know how to respond to this. Are you suggesting the world is overreacting to a potential global pandemic with a death rate 20 times that of seasonal influenza?

Calling all midwesterners! HyVee has a deal for $10 off & $150 in Visa gift cards...but there is a glitch where if you buy a reload able GC and put on $500 it discounts it by $30, so 475.95 for a $500 GC.

The Southwest cards are a good place to start, provided they have good flights out of your airport and you are amenable to opening both business and personal cards. The Southwest Companion pass allows you to designate someone to fly with you for free (well for a minimal tax charge) on every...

Anyone else prefer the 1 bedroom over the studio?

We first bought in 2005. We added on several times and had 300 points at SSR. We stayed exclusively in 2 bedrooms with our family of 5. Kids grew up, we sold our points...essentially broke even on them so had multiple stays on our dues. We took a few adult trips and stayed at the Poly on...

Any Plastiq experts out there? I am trying to meet 15k threshold for a free weekend night from Hilton. Hilton AmEx is 6ppd at grocery stores so I would like to pay my mortgage via Plastiq using MC gift cards from the grocery store. In order to do this I would need 5X $500 MC gift cards, but...

    Spirit airlines

If the “Big Front Seat” is available it is a great value! From MSP to MCO your choices for nonstop are Delta ( which I love but are generally quite a bit more $), sun Country or Frontier. Sun Country and Frontier are essentially the same a Spirit but without the option of paying for the Big...
