Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

Totally awesome post... To me the trucker/import thing is a totally different beast --- but the difference should be based on what they do.... i.e. Deliver (minimize contact) and then leave. There should be rules of course .... I'm assuming there are. If someone isn't following them ---...

Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

You sort of actually can... People travelling for non-vacation reasons have different rules/requirements. To be honest truckers should still be required to provide proof they are reasonably covid free before coming across the border (they should have fast tests available at the border though.)...

Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

I did read the post --- but it was utter nonsense..... and based on the current post you clearly hate the education system/teachers (who are mostly awesome by the way in spite of the challenges of covid, funding, etc... .) French kids in the province get to have an education and Catholic...

Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

Unfortunately... some people need to have more proof that their abject selfishness/non-essestial travel costs Canada more than they realize (maybe we could open restaurants, small business if the selfish just quarantined or didn't travel....... Gonna guess they won't though... since their...

Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

Good that your son and his fiance are being responsible.... The fact the government are not watching people arriving in the country/region like hawks ... is pretty much an indictment of whats going on... Responsible people in the country are dealing with the many restrictions to daily life...

Negative test to be required before flying to Canada

I am all for requiring ALL to have a negative test to enter Canada (regardless of how you arrive --- land or air.) It's not 100% but it's something. The cost to Canadians from the pandemic has been huge (loss of life, cost to the health care system (which we all pay for), business...

Not digging the “no carpeting” new trend

Prefer the hard floor option... We normally stay BC but this time will try YC... ( for the buses and the hard floor.) We figure we'll bring a swiffer handle and will buy the wet cloths when we do our arrival grocery trip. What housekeeping misses on the hard floor we'll take care of... we...

    Another U.S shipping rant

It will be interesting to see what the couriers are doing as far as brokerage/tax collection fees now that the CUSMA is in place (here's a link to the CBSA page.) The value for duty to apply to courier shipments from the US is $150 CDN (the value when hst/gst hits is at the $40 mark.) Weirdly...

    Reservation question

In the past when we've had a bounce-back or PIN or other special offer that was definitely the case. I think too if the booking is at a DVC property (as a cash booking --- availability bookings opens at different dates.)

Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We had booked for YC for Dec 2021 (as BC wasn't an option at the time) and my plan was to switch to BC when it became available .... but we've decided to stick with YC for now (being the first bus stop seems good since our main grumble with BC was bus service.) For those who have stayed YC do...

When do you think you'll be back?

We have a Dec 2021 trip booked -- and we're really looking forward to it. It was originally supposed to be a Dec 2020 trip but we rescheduled it to a March 2021 trip --- but finally decided to reschedule again for Dec 2021 instead. By then most will have had vaccinations and hopefully the...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

So I don't think this is a judgement about individual Floridians decisions (and we love Floridians --- while the weather is great it is individual Floridians who make the Florida experience that much greater.) What we do see is what is released from your State government and it's not reassuring...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

I don't blame this all on locals but certainly as a tourist I wish Florida authorities would seem more concerned about health than politics.... As outsiders we see polls and news reports that show things that are anything but reassuring.... based on polls I don't see a lot of change to quash...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

I think this is the part that makes me most nervous to go to WDW. Still have issues that locals who don't take the pandemic seriously makes WDW that much riskier.... but there are so many places that as visitor you access that aren't in the Disney bubble.... is taking a flight, walking through...

    Ultimate Orlando trip!!

I think the main thing for me would be what offerings are back to being offered then (fireworks, tours, fireworks cruises, parties, restaurants, FP+, etc...) --- with the current offerings available --- a once in a lifetime trip will miss a lot right now. I have no idea what will be coming for...

Let's speculate... what will the new (Disney) normal look like?

I think this will entirely depend on the vaccines and how soon they will be prevalent. Alternately if there were a way for there to be a way to test guests to ensure that they truly not affected (not false negative) and covid free before entering the park --- so easy, fast, smart and reliable...

Dec 2021 -- we've booked and are totally nervous....

Thanks to all for posting.... Hopefully with the current Vaccine info things will fall into place (it does make me feel much better) but hope all the entertainment/nighttime fireworks/restaurants/offerings will be back in Dec 2021.

    Pfizer news from today

There are apparently another 5 or more vaccines in the pipeline as well (some RNA based --- others more traditional) ... Since really the vaccines will likely be distributed first to emergency responders and medical personnel --- for most of us being early adopters isn't even possible..

Dec 2021 -- we've booked and are totally nervous....

So for Dec 2021 we've booked our next vacation..... By then many initial vaccinations should have occured. and we're hoping that the US is a little less scary by then --- but still have some major worriies since there is no sign anything is going to change... What are other Canadian's plans...

Magic band notice - is this new?

So I think that if Disney offered some exclusive and cool magic band options for a minimal extra charge for resort guests --- we'd be fine since we view not having to carry a room key to the pool, a convenience of paying with magic band.... without using my phone.... as very beneficial. While...
