New Changes to Rancho Del Zocalo in Disneyland

my guess is that they are updating the Rancho Del Zocalo page now, to add in all the fantasmic stuff. It's not clear if it will be Fantasmic only, which would suck. We will see.

New MK Holders. Recommendations for areas not near DL?

I like staying in Buena Park, you are then close to Knotts Berry Farm just in case, and there are lots of low $100 hotels there. It is typically a 15 minute drive.

    DL without Magic Bands-how?

Note that even though MagicBands don't work at the hotels, your phone can be used as a key instead of getting room keys made for you. You do have to link your hotel reservation to the disneyland app (if not already there), but it's a good way to avoid having to go to the front desk...

Safely Driving through CA to Disneyland?

When I am in Los Angeles or Orange County, the only thing I worry about is traffic and how horrible it is while driving. While I admit there were times I was slightly concerned at times while walking around, I have never felt unsafe, at least anymore than I have in a northern suburb of Chicago...

First Time ABD Trip July England/France

While I went on that trip, we pretty much just found restaurants around the hotel we happened to be in, so I don't think I will be able to help. As well, there were no set times as far "on your own" time. Best advice there is to ask the guides the days before for an estimate.

Paint the Night ever coming back?

It is by far my favorite parade. All the daytime parades kind of blend together in my head, and MSEP is not as cool for me. I would love for it to come back, but it just doesn't seem that is going to happen.

    Special Early Entry Gates????

I was there a couple weeks ago, but didn't take advantage of EE., so I cant answer that part. The Disneyland App does have a similar feature to DW app where you can unlock the room with your phone (and other areas of the hotel that are locked to non hotel guests). You do need to link your...

    Walt Disney Studios Tour

This is the Lucasfilm entry. I know it's not that interesting, but I didn't want to get myself or the guide in trouble. The guide did say this was ok. Note that the main location of Lucasfilm is in San Fransciso. The person in the pic was the employee that the guide started up a...

    Walt Disney Studios Tour

We took the studio tour last week on a thursday at 2pm. There were only 7 of us on the tour (my son and I, and another group). We weren't hurried, and I never felt any pressure from other tour groups. We saw the archives, the legends plaza, Walt's office, animation building (all 3 floors)...

    Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace

I did this within the first year they started doing this. So we got the "better" meal, the games, Mickey and Minnie coming out, the music during the fireworks, and the fireworks themselves... I still don't think it was worth it (or at least not something I would do again), mainly because the...

    Universal, how busy?

https://www.isitpacked.com/crowd-calendars/universal-studios-hollywood/ Like any crowd calendar, no guaranteees, but last week of March looks packed. Jimmy has some great suggestions. The other option of course is to get universal express pass, but be aware it doesn't help on Mario Kart ride.

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

the information is only on the DVC site, not on the disneyland site that I can see, and even then they don't indicate the actual discount. Specifically: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/discounts-perks-offers/tickets-tours/pass-programs (click the read more link)

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

My point was that they are creating demand for a virtual product just so they can get the "customer mix" that they want, and to plan staffing levels, no matter how customer hostile it is to have the policy. I just don't see any positive benefit for the average customer. Already, the Imagine...

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

Ok, the flex pass was using a similar reservation system. Fair point. when you said that Disney implemented the reservation system so quickly, and were able to do so because they were thinking about it, I countered that almost all theme parks also created their own reservation system about as...

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

By the way I found this, which seems to go opposite to your claim, yes it’s for disneyworld but I think the statement there about covid equally applies to disneyland. https://plandisney.disney.go.com/question/know-disney-doing-away-reservations-january-family-may-548041/

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

I’m curious how you know that the reservation system was in development before. I have never heard anyone claim that. If you have a source for that, I’d be interested in looking at that. Almost all theme parks after reopening implemented a reservation system, so are you saying they all...

    Whats the best character breakfast?

I vote for storytellers, although I like goofys for dinner, on the day we arrive. Minnie’s is great for character variety and being in the park. If you do Minnie’s do a later breakfast, so you can get some attractions in before breakfast.

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

Park reservation system was created, and made sense during Covid. It had nothing to do with annual passes, until Disney realized they could use it to benefit themselves. If you don’t think people hate the reservation system, and are reducing or not going at all to Disney, you need to listen...

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

So by your logic, when they didn’t limit annual passes for years, Disneyland was a hellscape where everyone was miserable. No, that’s obviously not true. It’s that whole favorable mix thing, and their obsessive need for the reservation system.. it has nothing to do with an enjoyable...

Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

it's really crazy to me that these are in such demand that they "sell out" (whatever selling out means for a virtual product that goes on your phone). For years, the annual pass was available 365 days a year, why can they no longer do that? Covid is no longer an excuse. I won't even begin...
