    Princess Weekend 2021

I recommend registering for the 1/2 first and then the 5K.

    Anyone Cancelling?

While we didn't have a reservation booked just yet, I had spent the past two years planning a family reunion for 21 people for Feb. 2021 that we have since decided to cancel. We're heartbroken, but there were many factors at play besides the announcement of the new restrictions at WDW, and so...

    Princess Weekend 2021

Thanks! I pulled my active.com account to see what I paid in registration fees back then ($85.28 for the 5K and $362.44 for the Challenge), and the 6.6% sounds about right for what I paid in total with the fees last time. That being said, that would put the 5K at $94.87 each after the platform...

What is a disney ride you will never ride again

DLR: The Matterhorn. The last time I rode it was in 2009, and I'm pretty sure I still have bruises. WDW: I'm not sure there are any rides there that I've completely written off. I wasn't a huge fan of Barnstormer, but would ride it again if my kid or one of my nieces/nephews wanted me to ride...

    Princess Weekend 2021

So, as I mentioned a few pages back, this will be my first runDisney race since 2018, and back then was when we registered through active.com. Can anyone who has more recent experience with registering directly with rD enlighten me as to how much taxes & fees add on to the registration fees...

    Reservations for 10

It depends on the restaurant. Some restaurants like Raglan Road, Spice Road Table, T-Rex, and Rainforest Cafe have a maximum of 8 per dining reservation, so you would have to split your party up (5+5 or 6+4). I use this site's list to help me prep for making ADRs for large parties.

How do you feel about wearing a mask at Disney parks?

I'm of the opinion that it will be an extremely difficult rule to enforce logistically. Do they require masks to be worn 100% of the time, or only when indoors & social distancing? How about outside transiting between attractions? On buses/monorail/ferry boats? What about at the resort hotels...

What is the largest party size recommended to secure ADRs?

I think the easiest one to get that will include your whole party will be Crystal Palace. The others you may need to split up or take a weird time for your ADR (like an early or late dinner, etc). For guidance on ADR party sizes, I often refer to WDW Prep School's breakdown by restaurant. It's...

Your least favorite Disney sit-down restaurant

My husband and I both agree that Via Napoli is not worth the time, money, or effort to get an ADR. Service was terrible, restaurant is over-packed and noisy, and the pizza was just okay. Me personally, I wasn't overly-impressed with Hollywood Brown Derby. The food and dining experience as a...

Parties of 10 - Tell me about your experience booking large parties

I have a large group of us going to WDW next year (as few as 16, as many as 21), and have been using WDW Prep School's breakdown as a guide for how many people per ADR I can book. As previous posters have mentioned, not every restaurant at WDW can accommodate the same size parties per ADR, so be...

What stores are good for finding older/vintage candies?

The last time I wanted to buy vintage candy, I found it at Five Below. They have all kinds of old school candies for sale either individually for 10c each or in bags/boxes. Laffy Taffy, Tootsie Pops, Now 'N Laters, and rolls of Life Savers (root beer, butter rum flavors included). They even have...

    Difference in Military Tickets

The website Military Disney Tips is my primary go-to for all things military discount-related, especially since we've gone from annual trips to every other year or every three years, and I like to stay on top of changes and release dates for things. Just thought I'd throw that in there since I...

    Princess Weekend 2021

Thanks for the correction! See, I told you it's been a while since I registered for a rD race! LOL Good to know it doesn't involve a third-party site.

Do you think the days of handing your phone to photo-pass is over?

There's also the cross-contamination factor that occurs from phone to phone that the PhotoPass photographer transmits between guests, as well. I think Disney should consider lowering the cost of PhotoPass and/or Memory Maker in order to encourage guests to go that route, especially if they...

    Planet Hollywood

I'm currently planning a large family trip for next year, and one of the places that my sister and her family wanted to eat at was Planet Hollywood, and I am so thankful I was able to talk them out of it. The main things that drew them there was the theming & memorabilia and the milkshakes. I'm...

    Princess Weekend 2021

While I can't speak for registration for the past two years (2019, 2020) in previous years that I've done PHM, the 10K and Challenge tend to sell out the quickest - within a couple of hours of registration opening. Then the half marathon, and then the 5K. Some years, I've found either the 5K or...

    Most romantic resorts

As other posters have mentioned previously, it really depends on what type of couple you are. For us, these would be our top choices: 1) Animal Kingdom Lodge - Savannah View. We're animal lovers, and we love how quiet this resort is. We like to have lunch or dinner at Sanaa and then go have...

If Disney re-opened today what's the first thing you'd eat there?

I'd get either a boozy Dole Whip or a Yak Attack and park myself in a quiet spot in the Harambe Marketplace to people-watch. Animal Kingdom is usually the first park we visit every trip, and that is a nice midday break. Afterwards, I usually hop on Kilimanjaro Safari or go for a trek through...

    Military Salute tickets amidst COV-19

Military Disney Tips usually keeps pretty up-to-date information regarding the Armed Forces Salute and other military discounts, so I'd keep an eye on their website and social media for more announcements.
