Cases rising or dropping by you?

Tennessee here. My state is seeing very high daily numbers, and we've had over 8000 new cases statewide between Sunday-Wednesday of this week. Not every county is as badly affected, which is the only good news in this since we've seen many rural hospitals close down over the last few years.

Anyone concerned about the Coronavirus in WDW ?

I have travel plans for next month. I have not cancelled them yet. Then again, I'm not traveling to a place which has recently seen a spike in Coronavirus cases. At this point, I think being an informed consumer is our best bet. Follow the news (whatever news source(s) you find most...

    Real ID: Married Women Beware!

I am glad I read this thread. For ages, Tennessee said that our driver's licenses were on the list for being Real ID compliant. (I was shocked, but yay.) Then they released a statement this year that everyone who wants a Real ID will have to come in person and present your documents to...

If you are over 50, how much do you have saved for retirement? anonymous of course

My God. All of you with all of this money are so fortunate. I hope you realize that the option to have that much money saved isn't an option for everyone, no matter that they work 60+ hours a week, etc.

    Best trip insurance?

First of all, look at what you have covered already through insurance policies and credit cards. Many people are fortunate enough to have some coverage there, although NOT EVERYBODY does. If you decide that you need trip insurance in addition to what you may already have, consider asking...

Packing for Italy (how many pairs of long pants)

A lot depends on your comfort level. If you want to wear one pair of longer pants for days when you'll be visiting churches, that's cool. You may want to pack something else for the evening. If you're doing an ABD, your guides can tell you in advance which days you'll need to have something...

Does anyone actually book and pay rack rates through Disney?

Most people who travel to Disney once every ten years (or once in a lifetime for some) will book the going rate on the Disney website. For some, they don't know there are options. For others, they may think that discount sites are scams.

    Spinoff: Favorite Airport?

I like to fly, so I enjoy airports. Having said that, some have been more enjoyable than others. I really like ATL, mostly because I've changed flights there so often that I am very familiar with what's where. DTW was surprisingly nice as well. I dislike MIA and CDG.

    Ecuador/Galapagos

I had altitude issues in Ecuador. My other half did not. (I had no previous altitude issues when traveling in mountainous regions.) Just take the first day slowly if you do find yourself having issues, and stay hydrated!

    Delta and Cancellation Fee

For a weather delay, Delta generally gives you a limited window of new dates (as close to the original travel dates as possible) when you can reschedule your trip without extra cost. If you're not planning to make the trip that month, that might not help you much. As somebody else said above...

Recommendations, please: a facial moisturizer that is worth the money

When we were in Morocco, I purchased a face cream that was made locally with argan oil. I have very sensitive skin, but this is the most AMAZING thing I've ever used. If you're interested, DM me. I'll send you the specifics, but the one I purchased was for older skin.

How/When do you teach your children about hatred?

You always have to think about the age of the child vs. what they can understand. I know we all think our kids are brilliant. (Of course, they are!!) But there is a difference between what we as adults can understand and what children at this age, that age, etc., can truly process. For...

    I'm far from over protective....question

If you watch the news, there are no safe public places. Schools. Places of worship. Grocery stores. Concerts. Movie theaters. Shopping malls. But I have always believed that we - as Americans - are braver than any fears that might discourage others. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be...

Why the ever changing TSA requirements?

Even with PreCheck, you may be subject to what is called 'random, additional screening' at any airport. I often think our home airport is some kind of training ground for TSA personnel. The rate of being pulled aside here - even with PreCheck - is roughly 50%. I sometimes think it would be...

Hotels you have loved in San Francisco

Hi! We may spend a week next spring in San Francisco, so I'm looking to see if anyone has a hotel recommendation to share. (Not airbnb) In the past, we've stayed in the Financial District and Nob Hill. We're open to trying a new neighborhood. I'm just curious to see if anyone has someplace...
