Candy Cane Inn, Park Vue or Grand Legacy

We love Park Vue Inn. Great rooms, very comfortable, decent breakfast and the location is fantastic! Plus, a Cold Stone Creamery onsite, where you get 10% discount as a PVI guest :-D

What restaurants do you not want to go back to?

‘Ohana. We had an awful experience from start to finish at breakfast. We managed to get a full refund in the end, 1 x refund on site and then the rest of the bill via Guest Relations once we got home.

What Resorts Do You Refuse to Stay At?

We didn't enjoy Pop when we stayed a few years back, and we're not fans of the recent room rehabs, so probably wouldn't return there, but if we were pinched for money, we're still at Disney at the end of the day!

How much do you spend on food?

As a couple, we spend about $80/day or less - that will include a Starbucks coffee, cookie from a bakery etc., QS lunch and dinner outside DLR, such as at The Pizza Press.

How long is your daily commute?

30-40-minutes on the bike (12-15 km) or 15-mins in the car (12 km) one-way. I definitely feel lucky to have a short and pleasant commute each day as I used to drive 1-hour one-way in my previous job (29 km) and that wasn't much fun.

    Finally planning our first trip!

Personally, I would say walking distance is preferable as you'll be able to get into the parks quicker. But I guess staying further out and taking a bus would be cheaper? We've always booked the hotels directly through the accommodation website, or on Expedia or Booking, whichever is cheapest...

Best Travel Card for the US

We've used a Cash Passport through ANZ our last few trips and this has worked out really well, especially with the app that shows an up-to-date balance as soon as you've spent something! You can load it up in the bank with the amount of currency you require and it takes a few days to load onto...

    Finally planning our first trip!

Sounds like a well-deserved trip, kiwigirl! You'll have a blast! My ten cents...we've only visited DLR at Halloween-time, so can only recommend that time of year. However, we've had an amazing experience both times and the crowds have been very manageable. On our first time to DLR we stayed at...

First Thing You Do/Ride in Each Park?

Strategically, we should head to Peter Pan in DL first, but we love the Jungle Cruise and try and make this our first ride, or at least second! In DCA, RSRs or Soarin', and then grab a FP for the other one.

Rope drop for Navi...what’s for breakfast?

There are delicious elephant ear pastries by an outlet near Kilamajaro Safaris or a Mickey Cinnamon Bun at Creature Comforts (Starbucks).

    O'Hana or Boma for dinner?

Boma is awesome! Great atmosphere and a huge selection of delicious hot and cold foods, and Zebra Domes for dessert! These alone are worth going to Boma for!

    Skippers Canteen

We went during our October trip. Good food and we enjoyed the service as we're big fans of the Jungle Cruise, however, we found it to be too expensive for what we received, and probably wouldn't return. The falafel and vegetable curry was delicious though and I would recommend that as a solid dish!
