Ideas to help celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary on board?

We celebrated my parents' 50th last summer on our Alaska cruise with 14 of us. I ordered door magnets from Etsy. (Bridal Mickey and Minnie with a banner that said "Happy 50th Anniversary!") We designated one dinner (an at-sea day so no chance of excursions running long) as the official...

    Help in Vancouver

We were in Vancouver before our cruise in July 2017 with a family group of 14, and we stayed at the Residence Inn on Hornby. The breakfast was excellent and it worked really well for us. You do have to take cabs to the cruise terminal, but it's inexpensive, and the cabs drop you directly at...

    Ziplining in Skagway - water

We did this excursion in July 2017! There were 8 of us total (four adults, four kids). It was misty and cool when we went, so it didn't seem necessary to have water. I think the only way you could manage it is a small bottle in either a cargo pant pocket or maybe a jacket pocket that zips. It...

    Disney Tracy Arm boat tour

I replied to the longer thread, but thought I'd try to answer your questions directly. We did this excursion in July 2017. We LOVED it. I'm really bad at guessing numbers of people -- maybe 125 on the boat? There were enough indoor seats for everyone. They provide binoculars, and they had a...

    Atlantis "The Current" question

We did Atlantis off the Dream three years ago with a large family group. The kids who went on that excursion were 11, 10, 9 and 8. We LOVED the Current, and thought it was a total blast -- the moving ramps that take you up were fantastic. That said, I think we all got dumped at one point or...

Meal options at Hungry Bear On the Go for Fantasmic Package

I wish we had known we could order off the regular menu! The official "Go" menu options were pretty dismal -- not even close to being worth $30. I don't regret it, b/c the seating for F! was so good, but we would've much rather just had the regular menu.

MaxPass on Thanksgiving -- here's how it went down.

Yes, I never felt that completely claustrophobic crush passing by IJ and Jungle Cruise. (And we didn't realize that they didn't do the Jingle Cruise overlay until we were there. Wonder why they skipped it this year?) After the fireworks, we left the F! viewing area and they routed us backstage...

MaxPass on Thanksgiving -- here's how it went down.

Many thanks to those of you who encouraged me to get MaxPass for our family of 4. If you're interested in details, here's what we did: -- Pulled up to Mickey and Friends at 7:30. Parked around 7:50. Walked to DD, absolutely no line at security, were through the gates at DCA around 8:15. Bought...

Has anyone ever linked a CM comp ticket to the app?

Okay, thanks. Since they have barcodes, I was hoping we'd be able to scan them in. Ah well, can't complain about free parkhoppers! ;-)

Has anyone ever linked a CM comp ticket to the app?

Because I am trying to do it right now and failing! Was hoping to get them on the app and add MFP. It's not recognizing the barcode. What are my options if I'm not able to get these tickets on the app? How long will it take me to set things up once I'm at the parks? Thanks!

How do you know if MaxPass is worth it?

Okay, you guys have totally convinced us to give it a whirl! Now to figure out how/if it can be linked to CM parkhopper passes... (if anyone has done this, I'd love tips!)

    Watching fireworks right after Fantasmic

    Oh, that's perfect. Thanks!

How do you know if MaxPass is worth it?

We are going on Thanksgiving day. DH used to be a CM, so we have been to the parks a LOT, but not so much in the past year. Trying to figure out if adding $40 to our day is a worthwhile investment. We are there more for the atmosphere (and to see F!) rather than any particular rides. But we do...

    Watching fireworks right after Fantasmic

Hello! We are heading to Dland this week. We have the Fantasmic dining package for the 9:00 show, and the fireworks are at 9:30. Will we be able to see them? Do they make us exit the F viewing area? What's our best bet? Thanks.

Can we make a 12:30 flight from Vancouver after the cruise?

You can definitely make it. Do early walk-off, take the elevator up to the hotel, grab a cab to the airport. By doing this, we easily made it in time for my Brother, Sil and their two kids to catch an 11:30 flight in July.

    Can't Miss Cocktails!

We were on the Dream a few years ago, and the Wonder this summer. We are from L.A. and definitely cocktail snobs. Our experience is that the craft cocktail scene on DCL isn't very good. Most (all?) of the drinks we tried were so, so sweet! There was one bartender who made me a mojito every night...

Booking flight after disembarking from Vancouver

We were on a mid-July Alaska cruise this year. My B&SIL (and their two kids, ages 4 and 6) had an 11:30 flight. We all did express walk-off. My dad had pre-booked a taxi, which we caught in front of the hotel (we had to take an elevator up, but it was super easy). They made their flight easily...

Thinking of an Alaska Cruise in 2018 (Summer)

I totally believe you that Glacier Bay is the best, but it seems like DCL almost always does Endicott (Dawes Glacier) now. I think they went to Tracy that one week when Endicott had a landslide or something, but we were on after that and they went back to Endicott. Still only one glacier, but it...

Help with ocean view stateroom selection for Alaska

We sailed Alaska with a porthole in July this year. The curtains were DEFINITELY good enough to block the sun. I had two kids sleeping right near the porthole and there was not a peep of light until I opened the curtains. (Although if you're super paranoid, you can bring a clothespin or two!)...

Tracey Arm Fjord and Glacier Adventure

We sailed in mid-July and did the excursion in Endicott. It was wonderful! We did the one on the way in, which I would recommend. It's so thrilling to see everything "first" from the smaller boat. We saw whales, a bald eagle, mountain goats, seals (and pups!). The naturalist and crew on board...
