Puppy Breath...not that I'm in any mood to care for a puppy right now, but I love the smell. The trail of perfume and body spray the girls leave behind when they leave the house in the morning. New car...mine is about 3 years old and has lost it with all of the road trips, but I can still catch...

    Montana in Early May

At least you should still be able to go inside and see the common areas of the lodge. The lobby area is pretty cool and you can really see how it was a big inspiration factor for WDW's Wilderness Lodge.

    Montana in Early May

That's too bad. If it didn't have a bathroom, it was likely one of the "old house" rooms in the original structure. They're really popular options because they have that log cabin vibe. The newer wings in the OFI have traditional rooms with full bathrooms, but I'm guessing those aren't...

    Montana in Early May

I'm guessing you were in the rooms in the original main structure (old house). When we stayed at OFI, we were in one of the newer wings attached to the original structure. Our wing extended off from the gift shop on the right side of the lobby. Those wings have traditional/modern hotel style...

And Just Like That- Season Two

Did anyone else catch the new Fallout series on Prime? I know these are vastly different shows, but Sarita Choudhury (Seema) was in it. I had several moments where I expected her to remove her grimy post apocalyptic garb and reveal some fabulous AJLT/SATC worthy outfit and bag.

Lord of the Rings trilogy/The Hobbit - As much as I love Harry Potter, this came first and quite clearly had a considerable amount of influence on the Potter universe. Sweet Valley High - These were soooooo cheesy and my parents wouldn’t buy many, but I really enjoyed them. The library would...

    slo’s THURSDAY 5/2 poll - Tomatoes 🍅

I think some of the terminology on there is a blend of regional availability and regional references. I’ve never seen small tomatoes referred to as “snacking.” The most commonly available small tomatoes that we buy frequently are grape tomatoes. That’s how Kroger lists them for us. We’ve also...

Ever get so stressed you feel like you are a punch drunk boxer?

I think it's too many things at once. I hit a wall with it and I just become sort of paralyzed. If I hit that state and any more is loaded on to my plate, I snap like a caged animal.

    Magical Attire

The first thing I thought was Arwen from Lord of the Rings, since I believe elves possess magic and she had some nice flowy dressy pieces that might go well with the Oregon beach vibe. She's not as obvious as other dress options, but I think it would be fitting and magical in inspiration.

    Class of 2024!!!

Monday night marked another big night in the path leading up to graduation. It was honors night. This is the night when they get all of their cords and sashes. It was the first time in this whole process where her name was called and she walked across the stage, being greeted by all of the...

May brings Memorial Day. While it's a somber day, it's a welcome break before work gets really crazy for a few weeks. Late May brings the end of school. It's especially bittersweet this year, but I always welcome the extra little bit of sleep that comes at the end of the month as I'm ramping...

    RIP Michael Pinder

One of my very first concerts with my parents. It remember my little brother getting cranky and we left early. It was one of those open air arenas with a lawn seating section. I'll never forget Nights in White Satin in the sticky summer night air as we loaded up the car. Some of their songs...

Yosemite Tent Cabins (and a few other ???s)

We do plan to pop in to Sequoia. I know it's a park where we really should invest more time, but this trip...it's just something to punctuate the path a little on the way to Yosemite. I'm doing the same with the drive to CA and back. Is it ideal? No, but seeing a little bit of Sequoia is better...

Yosemite Tent Cabins (and a few other ???s)

We had planned on "popping in" to Sequoia on the way north. I know it's not the ideal amount of time to spend in a park, but Yosemite was really the goal. I appreciate the suggestion and it looks like a great place. It's definitely something I need to bookmark if we're able to get back that way...

Yosemite Tent Cabins (and a few other ???s)

It sounds a lot like the platform tents we had at the Girl Scout camp I attended a couple of times as a kid. I did notice the location of Tuolumne Meadows, but I'm not opposed to it. It looks like it would be a better position for us to begin our drive back east to get home. I think that may...

Yosemite Tent Cabins (and a few other ???s)

This is very helpful. The tents are not my ideal for lodging, but I'm just wondering if I can make it work with our travel tolerances. Location and that rustic vibe of being in the parks is something we appreciate with in-park lodging. I think I could even make a single outlet work. We'll be in...

Donations to School Groups - We recently did a carwash fundraiser for our school's choir booster organization. It was at one of those drive thru wash places where many of the patrons have memberships. The company was already generously donating 50% of all sales for any patrons using a choir...

Has concerts gotten more expensive now these days?

I saw the Stones in 1994 during the Voodoo Lounge tour. My friend lucked out with a phenomenal spot in a physical line for tickets. We wound up sitting front row center. Positioning alone led to an epic interaction with Mick Jagger and a little chat with Keith Richards. I still have the ticket...

slo’s TUESDAY 4/30 poll - Whipped Cream vs Cool Whip

My mom always bought Cool Whip when we were growing up because it lasted longer than fresh whipped cream and had a better cost per serving ratio than canned whipped cream. I never liked the artificial taste of it and would usually pass. The only exception I made was when they introduced the fat...

    Montana in Early May

It's something we enjoy, but I know others who think it's enough to just see the historic hotels and move on. At the very least, it can add some convenience if you decide it's for you.
