    BLT to Epcot?

We rent a car (always incredibly cheaply in Orlando compared to other trip destinations) and use it. Free parking everywhere and takes about 10 minutes (not counting the EPCOT parking lot walk). 100% predictable, reliable and friction-free compared to all the other methods.

True, I overstated. You'll be able to resale for a small fraction of the face value. Someone will want them at a fire sale.

Right, I got that you said you weren't excited about that. But you also said it may not be a "deal killer" which is what prompted my question, since if it isn't a deal killer it implies that you're okay with no resale value. That's why I asked -- I was curious to hear the perspective of someone...

Correct. No such thing as a grandfathered contract after resale.

So you're just not concerns that your Riviera points would have almost no asset value beyond your direct tenure of ownership? You're 100% convinced you'd never sell them?

BLT will always be walkable to MK and VGF and Poly will always be boat-able to it. While a decline in the monorail system is a serious bummer and not being able to rely on it to get to EPCOT could hurt values, I suspect the majority of the value is the easy proximity to MK. We own at BLT and...

I doubt it. I would interpret the new rules as you would be able to use the original 200 points at any resort including the new ones yet to open and the new 100 points at only the original 14 resorts.

Do you mean a premium on rental contracts, not purchases?

I think if they did that they would almost certainly face a class action legal challenge. Doesn't mean they might not try and ultimately win, but far less controversial to change the value of something that no one has been able to buy yet before they can. FWIW, if they ever did announce that...

The issue isn't buying the new resorts, it's selling them later. Many people don't hold onto their points forever. Most do not buy them as an investment expecting them to retain or appreciate in value but they have been comforted by the multi-decade track record of holding value and knowing...

For resale the new resort, certainly it's dead. Since resale for the other 14 resorts still allow full access to all of those resorts, it I don't see it having a big impact yet. Perhaps when we are much closer to the expiration date on the 2042 resorts if there is reason to know or believe...

Riviera Opening Fall 2019, Guesstimate for cash booking open date?

So now that Disney has made sure that the resale of Riviera will be worthless, is anyone seriously still considering purchasing here?

Bay Lake Tower...Lake View or Magic Kingdom View

We have stayed at both. Here's the thing. The single best rooms/views in the entire resort are Lake Views, if you get the room numbers that end in low-even-numbers -- i.e. XX02, XX04 etc. Those views are spectacular -- you get AMAZING lake views, no views of any other structures or rooms and...

Bay Lake Tower wait list ?

After you have closed (and therefore when there's no ability for it to affect you) could you PM me your real name? I had someone post something similar some months back then asked my Guide about it and he basically said it wasn't true and unless I had real information it didn't happen. To be...

Bay Lake Tower wait list ?

Been on the waitlist for March points just over a year now and counting. I check in every now and then and am told I am still on the list and that the list is the list and it's first come, first served and that no one has been offered March points who got on the list later than I did (whether...

Rock N Rollercoaster change to Marvel

Extremely disappointed to here this since we're going in late March and it's one of our favorite rides. Also annoying that they don't have it listed as an upcoming closure on the DLP website which we checked before booking.

DLP to CDG early in the morning -- suggestions?

Our flight out is at 9:25am -- it was the only non-stop option to our home airport all day. Anyway, given everything I've read about how the airport and airline want you there 3 hours early, and the poor security check process at Terminal 1 at CDG, etc., it appears the first train of the day...
